00:06through multi-agency initiatives like a nationwide job fair that thousands of striving Filipinos took a shot at

00:12and which many hit their marks.

00:14Our Noel Talacay has more.

00:19Cedraline is a fresh graduate of criminology.

00:22She tried her luck in a job fair in Pasay City today.

00:25Little did she know, she was hired on the spot as a cashier for her first job.

00:38She said she doesn't want to be idle and unproductive while waiting for her dream job as a cop.

00:44She has been looking for work over the last two months.

00:48I'm not idle at home.

00:50Cedraline was one of the applicants in the nationwide job fair of the Department of Labor and Employment

00:57in which the Pasay City Labor Desk and Public Employment Service Office collaborated for the event.

01:04In the National Capital Region, there are four job fair sites put up by the DOLE,

01:09including one in Barangay 54 in Pasay City.

01:20Apart from job opportunities, DOLE-NCR and Pasay City Peso also provided livelihood programs to its residents.

01:34They taught them how to make crickle, fermented green papaya, and create Christmas lanterns.

01:50There are also job fair sites from Region 1 up to Region 11.

01:54It also included the Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Caraga.

02:01The DOLE's job fair was also part of the birthday celebration of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

02:07under its program, Handog ng Pangulo na Servisyong Sapat para sa Lahat Job Fair,

02:12wherein over 67,000 job opportunities offered to all job seekers in the country.

02:19The Department of Labor and Employment will address not only jobless Filipinos,

02:24but also those who have little, no interest in traditional employment.

02:29They will focus on upskilling manpower to prepare them in their future jobs

02:35and help them find alternative means of livelihood so that no one will be left behind.
