There are plenty of people who can probably name the best Tom Hanks movies. Whenever his name comes up, viewers probably think of hit films like "Splash," "Big," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Forrest Gump," "Philadelphia," "Cast Away," etc. (Hanks himself has specific thoughts on his best flicks and the "casual slaughter" that comes with making them.) But there’s one movie that Hanks thinks doesn't get referenced too often. With that, the two-time Oscar winner took some time to highlight the "incredibly important movie" during a chat.  Throughout his career, the "A Man Called Otto" star has proven he can master any genre, whether it be comedy or drama. While a number of his movies get referenced by fans, Tom Hanks feels the one people don't discuss is the acclaimed 2002 crime drama "Road to Perdition." The underrated gem came up during the star's interview with CinemaBlend's own "ReelBlend" podcast when the hosts called the film one of their favorites from Hanks. Once it was brought up, the witty actor took the time to reflect on the movie, making specific note of his esteemed collaborators.

00:33It has the best work of his career.

00:35And you have, you have, you have me in it, you know, uh, you know, Don mustache with

00:41a hat on it.

00:42But you also have two of guys who turned out to be two of the biggest motion picture presences

00:46in the history of the, of the industry with Jude Law, with Jude Law and Danny Craig.

00:53And I killed both of them.

00:54Isn't that right, staff?

00:55You also, you also kill some actor named Paul Newman.

01:02In the rain.

01:03Uh, that's right.

01:04But the moment that you're talking about right there is that moment where a, hopefully the

01:10entire audience sees for the first time when Michael Sullivan has seen all through, I am

01:17on this road to perdition because my son cannot be the killer that I am.

01:23One is he doesn't have it inside him.

01:25And number two, I am not going to sentence him to that life.

01:31Now that I'm, you got me thinking about literally my, my, I got my, my skin is, is standing

01:37up on the back of mine.

01:38This is Jake's favorite movie.

01:55I said, well, you know, like as a guy on who watches Turner classic movies a lot and the

02:01more obscure and unknown a movie from 1940s or the 1950s, the better, because I have no

02:08preconceived notions about it.

02:10I don't know anything about it.

02:11And when you watch one of those movies and it's Crackerjack and it's incredibly moving

02:17and all I can think of is this, I'm so glad this movie lasts forever.

02:20So I got a chance to revisit it now.

02:22That might be the case with Road to Perdition.
