00:00Former Research Assistant Yusuf Rauta has been charged at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrates

00:08Court for trafficking 305 grams of cannabis.

00:12No plea was recorded after the charge was read to Yusuf before Magistrate M Arun Jothi.

00:18The charge was framed under Section 39B Sub 1A of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

00:23Yusuf is accused of trafficking drugs at a park in front of the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters

00:28on September 6.

00:30Remention of the case has been set for November 12, pending reports from the Chemistry Department.

00:36Yesterday Yusuf's lawyer Rafiq Rashid Ali said police found two fake pistols along with

00:41the cannabis in his vehicle.

00:44However Rafiq said Yusuf denied ownership of the pistols and drugs, claiming that they

00:48were planted by individuals who had a personal vendetta against him.
