00:00Assalamu alaikum today we will talk about relationship between cell function and cell
00:09structure. Today we will study what is the connection between cell structure and its function.
00:17Allah has created the cell structure according to the function of the cell.
00:24Different types of cells are present in plants and animals and each cell has its own function.
00:33But they all work together. For example, if we talk about the cell of the leaf,
00:39the cell in the leaf contains more chloroplasts. Why? Because chloroplasts have a pigment
00:50which is called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is responsible for the photosynthesis and
00:59you all know that plants make their food through photosynthesis. So more chloroplasts are present
01:07in the cell of the leaf. In this way, if we talk about animals, those cells of animals that make
01:14secretion, they have more Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum. Because these two are
01:24responsible for the preparation of secretion. These two make secretion together.
01:32There are about 200 different types of cells in the human body and each cell has its own
01:41function. The way their functions are different, their structures are also different from each other.
01:48Their sizes and shapes are different from each other. Some have a globular shape and some are
01:58elongated. In this way, the surface area to volume differ from each other. Some cells cover more
02:07area and some cells cover less area. In this way, the presence or absence of organelles.
02:11According to its function, organelles are present or absent in it. As we said, the cell of the leaf
02:21has more chloroplasts because photosynthesis is taking place in the leaf. In this way,
02:30if we talk about its size and shape, first of all, we talk about the red blood cell. The red blood cell
02:36is round in shape so that it can easily bind with hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is an iron-containing
02:49compound which is made up of globin protein and it carries oxygen. Oxygen binds with it
03:00and it binds with the red blood cell. In this way, the red blood cells supply oxygen to the
03:11whole body. If we talk about the shape of the red blood cell, it is flexible. It can easily change
03:20its shape. Because red blood cells pass through our small veins, whenever it is needed, it can
03:29easily change its shape because it is flexible. So, Allah has made our cell according to its
03:41function. In this way, we talk about the nerve cell. What does the nerve cell do? It transmits
03:51a message. Whenever we touch something hot, we immediately remove our hand. Why does this happen?
04:03Because we have a receptor in our hand and that receptor sends a message through the nerve impulse
04:11to the brain and the brain tells us that this thing is hot, so remove your hand quickly. So,
04:18we remove our hand quickly. Who takes that message? Nerve cells. So, these nerve cells are spread
04:29throughout our body. As you can see here in yellow color, these are all nerve cells and
04:36they transmit this message to the brain. This is a separate nerve cell. So, because it has to
04:44transmit a message to the brain, it is long. So, Allah has made its structure according to its function.
04:53In this way, if we talk about the xylem, what does the xylem do? It conducts water. So, it is tube-like.
05:02Just like a pipe, it has a tube-like structure so that it can conduct water easily. The second
05:10thing is support. Because xylem is thick. Lignins are present in the xylem wall which makes its wall
05:19thick and they support the plants. Root hair. So, there are small hairs present in the roots of the plants.
05:34Presence are absence of organelles.
05:59Cells involved in making secretion have more complex endoplasmic reticulum and golgi apparatus.
06:07Those cells which make secretion, they have more complex endoplasmic reticulum and golgi apparatus.
06:15Just like our salivary gland, it secretes saliva. Because of this, the endoplasmic reticulum and
06:26golgi apparatus are more complex. In this way, our liver also secretes saliva.
06:32In this way, the endoplasmic reticulum and golgi apparatus are more complex.
06:36Presence are absence of organelles. If we talk about plants, those cells which are responsible
06:46for the photosynthesis, chloroplasts are more present in them. Now, let's study the function
06:54of cells in the body. In our body, we have studied different types of cells. Now, we will study their
07:02functions. What is the function of nerve cells? They transmit messages to the brain. We have studied
07:11this earlier. Muscle cells are responsible for constriction and relaxation. Muscle cells are
07:20also present in our heart. You all know that to pump blood, the muscles are constricted and
07:26relaxed. In this way, we move in our muscles. In this way, we pick up something in our hand,
07:33keep something and our muscles are constricted and relaxed. So, they help in movement.
07:38If we talk about red blood cells, they carry oxygen. We have studied this in detail earlier.
07:47And in this way, there is another cell in our blood which is called white blood cell. So,
07:54whenever any bacteria or virus enters our body, the white blood cells kill them. So,
08:03that this bacteria and virus cannot harm our body. In this way, let's talk about our skin cells.
08:13Skin cells work as a barrier. Barrier is called recovery. This means that nothing
08:19does not allow it to enter the body. Yes, we know that there is a lot of virus and bacteria
08:27present in our atmosphere. If our skin cells were not present, these bacteria would easily enter our
08:33body and harm us. So, what is the function of skin cells? They work as a barrier and
08:42do not allow anything to enter our body. In this way, they work as a receptor.
08:49We know the temperature, etc. There are receptors in our skin. If we know the temperature is low or
08:54high, we know it through this skin cell. In this way, if we touch anything, we know whether it is
09:01soft or hard. In this way, pain receptors are also present in our skin.
09:06So, what is the function of bone cells? Bone cells deposit calcium in the bone.
09:19And because of calcium, our bones become hard so that they give us support.
09:27The function of the bone is to give support. And bones are hard because of calcium.
09:33And who is depositing calcium? Bone cells.
