No mpox lockdowns, says Dzulkefly

There will be no national lockdown for monkeypox (mpox) like what was seen during the Covid-19 pandemic, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said on Tuesday (Sept 10).  He said the government was taking every measure necessary to keep the disease out of the country and ruled out lockdowns such as the movement control orders (MCO) issued during the pandemic. 00:00We have come out of the infectious disease pandemic, especially COVID-19

00:11But we are also affected by another virus, which is called M-pox

00:20As a minister, I am often asked to increase the number of SOPs

00:28God willing, M-pox will not repeat when we are not only live, but also live-in

00:41So don't worry, there will not be anything like what is said as MCOs, lockdown, etc. in the era of COVID-19

00:54But I also want to remind everyone not to be too comfortable

01:00We know the transmission of this virus

01:04And also up to this moment, almost 6 million people have been infected with M-pox

01:13So far, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, we have not yet received a positive case from those we suspected under investigation

01:33All of us are clear, so far we have zero cases of M-pox, Alhamdulillah

01:40People asked for nine cases, up to November 2023

01:45But this next stage, particularly in the variant 1 clip, 1B, we did not witness, Alhamdulillah

01:57However, we want to be reminded that we are out of the pandemic infection disease, we are still facing a pandemic chronic disease
