00:00Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, for example, in Hadith Qudsi,

00:07يَبْنَا آدَمْ أَنْفِقْ أُنْفِقُ عَلَيْكَ

00:10O son of Adam, spend and I will spend on you.

00:14Or when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says,

00:17مَنْ كَانَ فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيكَ كَانَ اللَّهُ فِي حَاجَتِهِ

00:20Whoever is in the service of his brother, Allah is in his service.

00:24Think about the extent of those words.

00:26How much will you spend on your brother?

00:31And how much do you want from Allah?

00:33How much will you take care of the vulnerable?

00:36And how much do you expect from Allah when you yourself are vulnerable?

00:41مَنْ سَتَرَى مُسْلِمًا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

00:44Whoever covers or conceals the fault of his brother,

00:49Allah will cover his fault or conceal his fault on the day of judgment.

00:53How much are you willing to conceal your brother's fault?

00:57And how badly do you want Allah to conceal your flaws on the day of judgment?

01:02Think about that.

01:03Because the extent counts as well when you include in the equation Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

01:08What do I want from Allah and what am I willing to give to the people?

01:12If I'm willing to only somewhat cover the shame of my brother,

01:16then I can expect on the day of judgment that my shame will also be exposed.

01:20And if I'm willing to put my brother on blast or my sister on blast,

01:25and slander and gossip,

01:27then I can expect that the same will be done with me on the day of judgment

01:30where I will be in utter humiliation.

01:32For the humiliation that I caused to someone else.

01:35The Prophet shallallahu alaihi wa sallam says,

01:36مَنْ يَسَّرَ عَلَى مُعْصِرٍ

01:39Whoever facilitates or makes something easy for one who is in hardship.

01:44يَسَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وِالْآخِرَةِ

01:46Allah will make things easy for him in this life and the next.

01:51Once again, the Prophet shallallahu alaihi wa sallam is telling us,

01:54to what extent will you seek to alleviate the hardship of another?

02:00And to what extent do you want Allah to alleviate your own hardship

02:04on the day of judgment?

02:06When Allah says in the Quran,

02:08وَالْيَعْفُوا وَالْيَصْفَحُوا

02:10أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ

02:13Let them forgive and pardon.

02:15Don't you want Allah to pardon you?

02:18Don't you want Allah to forgive you?

02:20Allah adds an element to it.

02:22You know when you kind of forgive,

02:25but you make sure that the person never forgets that you forgave,

02:29and you make them wish you never forgave them in the first place,

02:33because of how often you remind them of their transgression,

02:37and how little your forgiveness actually is,

02:41then you can expect the same from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

02:45How badly do you want to come on the day of judgment,

02:48and see that your major transgressions are forgiven?

02:52How badly do you want Allah to not make even mention,

02:56to not even make mention of your transgressions?

02:59And are you holding other people to that standard?

03:02Are you doing the same with other people?

03:05The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,

03:07he said that whoever severs the ties of kinship,

03:10Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala cuts him off.

03:13You cut off your brother and sister.

03:16Allah cuts you off.

03:18And I think about this a lot because,

03:20you know subhanallah, you know when you go to the Eid Salah,

03:22sometimes you got two people that aren't talking to each other.

03:25It's awkward.

03:26Ramadan, people are fasting.

03:29Jum'ah, you got people trying to avoid each other in a family.

03:32Right?

03:33And you think about this.

03:35The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says,

03:39that every three days,

03:41every three days,

03:44the deeds are presented to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

03:47Monday and Thursday meeting.

03:48The deeds are presented to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

03:51Your good deeds ascend to Allah.

03:53Every Monday and Thursday.

03:55And the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,

03:58Allah looks to two people that are quarreling.

04:01And Allah says,

04:02أَنظِرُوا هَذَيْنِ حَتَّى يَصْطَلِحًا

04:06Leave these two until they fix that which is between them.

04:11Leave them.

04:12You know, you think about the silly things

04:16that you allow to put barriers

04:19between you and your brother or sister,

04:20you and your family members.

04:22That could have cost you Ramadan.

04:25That could have cost you your hajj.

04:27That could cost you all of these things.

04:29Why? Because of your ego essentially.

04:32Because of your ego.

04:34Now this does not refer to, just to be clear,

04:36because I've got to give this disclaimer,

04:38an abuser and the one who is abused.

04:40This refers to quarreling.

04:43Making islah with those that you quarrel with.

04:45Reconciling with those that you quarrel with.

04:47Don't you want Allah to do that with you?

04:50Don't you want Allah to treat you the same way?

04:53So why not forgive and why not pardon?

04:55And one thing that's very noticeable

04:57about all of these ayat and all of these ahadith,

05:00is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,

05:02he uses the exact same wording every single time.

05:06And Allah uses the exact same wording every single time.

05:09اِرْحَمُوا مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمُكُم مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ

05:12Show mercy to those on this earth,

05:14and the one who is in the heavens will show mercy to you.

05:17Spend and I will spend on you.

05:20Forgive, don't you want Allah to forgive you?

05:23All of these times the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

05:25uses the exact same wording

05:27to show you that Allah will treat you

05:31exactly as you treat other people.

05:33Allah will hold you to the standards

05:35that you hold other people.

05:38And so you want that mercy from God?

05:41How much of it are you willing to manifest as a human being?

05:45How much of it are you willing to give to someone else?
