00:00I was able to meet this mother who is walking in the Presidential Museum of the mansion in Baguio City.

00:40Since yesterday, the mansion has been opened to the public for the visitors to see the Presidential Museum

00:48where the memorabilia of the presidents of the Philippines and President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. are displayed.

00:56It is open every Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while it is closed every Monday.

01:03Tuesday to Sunday, we are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

01:07I recommend that you book a tour. You can book through Facebook, Instagram. We have a website.

01:15We can also take in walk-ins, but we can only take 20 people per tour. The tours are every 30 minutes.

01:24So if there is space, let's say only 15 people arrive, we can put 5 walk-ins.

01:29But it would be better to book a tour. This is all free, so no charge.

01:34The mansion is considered a summer residence of the President of the Philippines and his family in Baguio City.

01:41And yesterday, First Lady Lisa Marcos was the first to attend its opening ceremony.

01:50She was accompanied by her daughter, William Vincent Marcos, Education Secretary Sani Angara,

01:56Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco, Baguio City Mayor Benamin Magalong, and others.

02:01Even though there was a rush, they opened the gate of the mansion together as a symbol of opening to the public.

02:09Well, it was a good opportunity since this house was never really used.

02:13And it's also a continuation of the Malacanang Heritage Mansions that we have.

02:21This is something that we would like to put in more areas so that people have that access and knowledge.

02:31In other words, this is an addition to our countrymen who will be going to Baguio.

02:37The reason for this is we have noticed that every day, 500 tourists are taking pictures outside the mansion house.

02:45And on weekends, it reaches up to 2,000.

02:48So we would like to open the doors so that people can come inside and take pictures inside.

02:54We are also opening the Presidential Museum here.

02:58This is so that the people can learn about their history, about the presidents.

03:05This is also very important in unification, right?

03:09We need to know about our history and our culture so that we feel one.

03:14Just a reminder to those who will be coming here to follow the guidelines and be responsible.

03:21According to Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco, the help of the mansion in tourism and the economy of Baguio City is great.

03:34and of course, our beloved First Lady, Luis Araneta Marcos, for this most significant and impactful project.

03:43The restoration and the opening up to the public of this very beautiful piece of Philippine heritage and history.

03:54I'm surprised that when I got here, I saw that all presidents are being honored.

04:01And because of that, the history is preserved and their achievements and their legacies of each president.

04:14So it's very educational as well, not just for adults, but also for children.

04:23And it's also preserving history and our cultural identity.

04:29It can also inspire people because of the achievements of the presidents.

04:35The government itself said that they have more tourist spots to fix and improve for the benefit of Filipinos.
