Hi.
00:01
Hello.
00:02
Oh my God.
00:03
I love your sofa.
00:04
It's so chic.
00:05
Yes.
00:07
We love it.
00:08
We bring it with us to all our job interviews.
00:09
Yeah.
00:10
Yeah.
00:11
It takes three people to carry it.
00:12
Yeah.
00:13
You all look absolutely incredible.
00:14
It's like looking at three icons sitting in front of me right now.
00:15
You dressed up yourself.
00:17
Well, it is a Saturday night, so I am going out after this.
00:18
But anyway, listen, you are all so amazing in this.
00:19
But the first thing that struck me about this film was the amount of dialogue.
00:33
It's almost like a play.
00:34
I mean, was that a bit scary?
00:38
I mean, it was, I think, the thing that made me most excited from just first jump.
00:45
When I was reading the script, to know that I was just reading Katie for a page and a
00:50
half without a break, I actually, I felt liberated by getting to have that much language to play
00:59
with.
01:01
He was so clear with what he wanted by using that kind of language and so much of it.
01:07
He also was so clear on the page of how he was planning on shooting it.
01:12
It was, I feel like it was a gift.
01:14
I like that.
01:15
Yeah.
01:16
I love a play.
01:17
I was way into it.
01:18
It felt like a play and I love plays.
01:19
Yeah.
01:20
And I was, well, scared of the play.
01:26
I once passed on Glen, Gary, Glen Ross and I just, well, maybe I could remake the movie
01:33
instead.
01:34
But it was very exciting that it forced a challenge.
01:41
You know what I mean?
01:42
They always say or whatever, or most famously David Bowie on Instagram memes and clips,
01:49
you know, like always be a little out of your depth and that's how you know you're doing
01:53
something.
01:54
Like you kind of want to jump off the cliff in the arts and it felt like this was a very
01:58
safe place to do that.
02:00
So yeah, full of fear pretty much all the time.
02:03
And this is why you're icons, that's very inspiring because see, if I was you guys and
02:08
I was as successful as you, I just wouldn't bother.
02:11
I would just pick the easy jobs.
02:16
Listen, what was interesting about this was in comparison to some of the other work that
02:20
you guys have done, obviously there's big budgets, there's costumes, there's CGI and
02:25
all this.
02:26
This is so stripped back.
02:28
I think you're mostly talking to Lizzie in this moment.
02:33
But we hear you.
02:34
Yeah, we're here for you.
02:35
Well, no, I mean, you both of you, I think, get to, there are these, you create iconic
02:43
images and characters that represent like an entire show by just something that you've
02:49
chosen to put on your body or how you make your hair, whatever it is, and your character
02:54
and your personality.
02:55
Right, like these world building sort of people.
02:56
Yes, and you create them and then Carrie jumps and morphs in between like any type of period
03:03
piece or present day, whatever, like the nest and is always morphing and you're always
03:08
like, how does her face look different in every movie that she makes?
03:11
And so I do, I do think there is something to that, what you're saying.
03:16
And and for us all to be able to kind of strip back in a different way.
03:24
I think in this was an opportunity for all of us.
03:26
And to do it together.
03:27
I think that was important for you with the haircut, like everything we've talked about,
03:31
how we had to do it together.
03:34
Yeah, I guess though, like at least in these, it's interesting that so much of our world
03:43
though has become this idea of like, you know, a set extension that we'll get to later or,
03:47
you know, like a CGI this or kind of like, you know, look at the X.
03:51
It's a lot of look at the X on the map box, you know, and I am guessing maybe in a way
03:57
that that's part of what you mean too, is how different it is to actually be able to
04:03
just really talk to the people that you're talking and shoot it on film and stuff like,
04:09
which was for us, because we've all done those kinds of things, as you're saying, it's, it's
04:14
extraordinary.
04:14
I mean, you just realize what happened, like that was kind of a gig that I think we probably
04:20
all signed up for, and then it gets so sidetracked in it.
04:24
Yeah, definitely.
04:27
Yeah.
04:27
That was a gig we all signed up for, and then we're like, oh, but we got to, you know, balance
04:33
it so that it all continues to build with opportunity.
04:37
Yes, because also as a professional, it's like you don't, probably we're all have had
04:42
this experience too, which is like, you never want to sort of like slow down the process
04:45
by really questioning, like, hey, might it be better if we actually spoke to the real
04:51
person instead of looking at the X in the map box.
04:53
So you just kind of go for it because you want to be, you know, like a valedictorian,
04:58
sort of like an A plus student.
05:00
And but inside you're sort of dying a little because you know that it's not, it's not really
05:04
right.
05:05
You know what I mean?
05:06
Like you're not.
05:06
So I think that it was extraordinary in that sense to kind of get back to basics and be
05:12
grateful for how rare, too rare it's now become.
05:16
Well, it was extraordinary for me to watch it.
05:19
I just felt like I was watching an acting masterclass.
05:22
Like it was so raw and so incredible.
05:24
Your performances.
05:26
Oh my goodness.
05:27
You're all so amazing.
05:28
And that's like, thank you so much for this film.
05:30
It's great to see three female leads as well.
05:33
Yes.
05:35
Yeah.
05:36
Thank you so much.
05:37
Thanks for interviewing us about it.
05:39
Yeah.
05:40
Oh, have a great night.
05:42
Take care.
