We asked Alexa Chung to revisit some of her earlier fashion looks, tell us the stories and memories behind the outfits, and answer the question, "Would You Wear It Now?"

00:09a bad outfit.

00:10So, I mean, I feel like the answer is going to be yeah, but let's see.

00:23So this is an outfit, wow, I'm really getting all the brands in.

00:26So I'm actually at a Topshop show in London Fashion Week.

00:30I'm very proud of my tan.

00:32I think I just come back from Spain.

00:34That's the beauty of a September London moment is that you tend to look the most well you

00:39could look.

00:40March or like end of Feb Paris being the worst you can possibly look.

00:44Anyway, I'm wearing a Topshop leopard print skirt, a Topshop unique roll neck jumper,

00:49sweater is what you call those, Prada shoes and a Chanel milk handbag and for some reason

00:55I've got pigtails.

00:56Yeah.

00:57So that's that.

00:58I don't mind.

00:59I mean, at least the silhouettes true to my vibe, which is mini skirt, roll neck, bits

01:04and bobs for that shoe.

01:06And quite often I'm just problem solving.

01:08So if you attend a show, it's kind of rude to not wear the designer.

01:12So this was Topshop and I picked a couple of things.

01:15Do they go together?

01:16Not necessarily, but I'm just ticking it off.

01:19Would I wear this now?

01:24I don't hate it.

01:26It's just not like right now.

01:29Yes.

01:31Yes.

01:34So Glastonbury Music Festival is a thing that happens in the south of England every year.

01:40It's actually a kind of pagan ancient site where the ley lines are such that humans have

01:45been gathering there since Druid times.

01:48And now it's the place of a music festival, which this is obviously a very arid year,

01:53which is very, very rare.

01:55It's usually covered in mud.

01:56It's where you see those photographs of crazy people, like using tents as a boat because

02:01it's usually flooded.

02:02Glastonbury style, actually something that I like about it is that it's a very wonderful

02:07festival where for the whole weekend, no one judges anyone.

02:10It's like this weird British utopia.

02:13And actually what you have on matters none.

02:16That said, obviously we all got savvy to the idea that there's paps in a certain area of

02:20Glastonbury.

02:21So if you're ever going to walk through that area, even with your worst hangover, bing,

02:25bing, bing, you have to be dressed to impress.

02:29The sunglasses are purely because I don't know what direction my eyes are moving in.

02:33I'm not ashamed to admit that after a few seasons of going to Glastonbury, I started

02:36bringing a hair tong with me because I was like, I don't want flat hair.

02:41I'm going to do my hair every time I leave this Winnebago.

02:43Also I'm like in a luxury position whereby I've never actually camped there.

02:46I'm in like a glamping area.

02:49This denim jacket is from this AG collaboration that I did.

02:53The ubiquitous wellies, which I'm not allowed to say the brand of because I now work with

02:57Barber, but we all know those ones.

03:00And a Bella Freud sparkly mini dress, which I would still wear.

03:03Honestly, I was just ripping off Kate Mosca's one year.

03:06She wore a silver like thing and she looked so good.

03:10And I thought being in a field and having the audacity to wear silver like a disco nighttime

03:14look is hilarious.

03:15That's that.

03:16Would I put it on?

03:17Fuck yeah.

03:26We're now in 2020 and I'm pleased I'm still rocking a gladiator sandal.

03:31I mean, this is amazing.

03:33It's like a Mohair Charles Anastas coat.

03:36These Chanel boots I wore so much and then I lost one of them.

03:40So I've got one and not the other.

03:42If anyone's seen this missing boot, I'd gladly have it back.

03:46Denim cut off shorts.

03:47I see that Leandra actually of Man Repeller fame has started wearing again black tights

03:52with jean shorts over it.

03:53So I think we're okay to wear that again.

03:56But I would like to say that that was a look that I was very fond of at the time.

04:02Again, like the boots are back, aren't they?

04:05Never want to change a shoe.

04:07That was a vintage like Victorian dress, which I really liked.

04:14I used to do a daily talk show called It's On with Alexa Chung.

04:18I remember it well.

04:19You can see the terror in my eyes.

04:44Wow, I really loved an ankle boot and I really used to wear them until they died.

04:48I saw only Chanel boots, but I wore them to aforementioned Glastonbury.

04:51Now, they're covered in mud since 2012 and I've not actually cleaned them.

04:56Yeah, no regrets.

04:57Just this one's a bit pedestrian, but other than that, fine.

05:03You know, it's really funny that you bring this one up because this coat the other day,

05:08because I'm going through all my clothes and figuring out what to get rid of, la, la, la,

05:11and this coat is in there and I'm kind of reluctant to get rid of it, but then at the

05:15same time, when would I ever wear it again?

05:17It's a dragonfly leather Marc Jacobs coat and some Prada boots and some really skinny

05:24jeans.

05:25Oh, womp.

05:26And these glasses, let's face it, just don't suit me.

05:28That said, like, whatever.

05:29I don't think it's that bad a look.

05:31This is great.

05:32This is very therapeutic because now I know I will get rid of this coat.

05:48The weekend before, I had opened up both knees on Runyon Canyon, falling over, leaning into

05:56the fall to make everyone laugh, and then I literally, like, lost most of my skin.

06:56And there was a minute when I regretted that look, but now I'm very happy with it.

07:12I remember I was always so scared to go and meet designers after the show, because I can't

07:16tell whether they would want to see you or not, but he was actually always nice, and

07:19he'd always hold you and whisper things to you about other people.

07:22He was so clever and lovely.

07:24I know he has a reputation in the press as being like, oh, obviously he's iconic and

07:29all the stuff that comes with him, but I only ever found him to be delightful, very warm,

07:34and just like, would just tell you it's okay.

07:36So that was really nice.

09:29I don't know what year this is from, but we'll say around the 2010s.

09:32My Madewell collection's obviously out because I've placed it here and here.

09:37Madewell was the first company I worked with who let me design a collection, and I remember

09:43creating these pyjamas, and I was like, I want to make palm tree pyjamas, and they were

09:48like, we're not sure, but they added them to the collection, and then the next season

09:51Louis Vuitton showed and put pyjamas in their collection, and then coincidentally it all

09:55came out at the same time, so it was great.

09:57Charles Anastas was one of my favourite designers, still is.

09:59He's fantastic.

10:28But, you know, here we are ten years later, and suddenly we're back into it.

10:32This is very much early athleisure.

10:35I would wear that one again, and it would make a lot more sense now, but at the time

10:38people were confused.

10:40It was like a boxy menswear jacket.
