Paralympics: GB face Japan in wheelchair tennis gold medal match

00:00There's a lot of court action at Roland Garros today with Paralympics medals up

00:04for grabs and the men's wheelchair tennis doubles. A little later on Team GB

00:09will be coming up against Japan for gold but before that it's France versus

00:13Spain to determine who gets to hold up bronze. Well following all that on court

00:19action for us today is our sports editor James Vecina. James, France fighting for

00:24bronze today, that isn't what they came for though is it? No absolutely Haxey

00:31they've just arrived on the Suzanne Longlin court to try and fight for that

00:35bronze. They're facing the Spanish side to try and get that third place medal

00:42after Stephane Oudé and Frédéric Cattaneau were ousted in the semifinals, ousted by

00:49the British pair Alfie Howitt and Gordon Reid in somewhat of a slightly

00:54ironic fashion or revenge of a way. The Brits who managed to seek revenge for

00:59the last two finals, the last two finals which they reached and faced France.

01:03France the two-time defending champions. France were expected to go and win and

01:06not just another gold but a third consecutive gold here in Paris. That was

01:11not to happen because the British put an end to that one and it's a revenge for

01:15the British because they were beaten in those two finals then by the French and

01:19having to go for silver this time. Now this means that France are going to have

01:23to try and do their best to try and get that silver. I can tell you that they've

01:27been welcomed under huge huge huge amounts of excitement by the crowd

01:31on the Suzanne Longlin court who are coming in full support for them and

01:36after that indeed it'll be up for Team GB versus Japan to fight for that gold.

01:41Will it be third time lucky for the Team GB? We'll find out in a

01:47couple of hours time. Japan will last in the final five editions ago and just to

01:53come back to that how big of an upset for France that was, well the last time

01:56that Japan was in a final was against France and ever since that final France

02:01have never skipped a final since then so in the last five editions so a huge

02:05upset for France but one that they're going to try and redeem themselves for

02:08after they have to do in a couple of events here in Paris and try and

02:12go for another bronze medal even though it is a disappointment especially for

02:15Stéphane Oudé, France's number one. So we'll have all that for you

02:19later on but I can tell you it is very nice to see so many people who've

02:22turned out to watch the wheelchair tennis much more than during the Open

02:26and they're enjoying the Paralympics.
