04:42It is an honour to be here on the Defence Day of Pakistan

04:48A day that reminds us of the courage, unity and determination of our armed forces and citizens

04:59who defend our nation against extreme aggression

05:03We are indebted to our martyrs

05:07and brave soldiers who laid down their lives

05:16many of them my friends from college too

05:21for the defence of Motherland

05:24We need a strong Navy to protect Pakistan's geo-economic interest

05:31It is reassuring that on this Defence Day

05:35we are witnessing the induction of two Pakistani Navy ships

05:40Babur and Hunain into the Pakistan Navy Fleet

05:45These ships symbolise our strong friendship with Turkey

05:50and our trust and Dutch demand shipyard in Romania

05:56These ships will boost the capability of Pakistan Navy

06:01to defend our maritime boundaries

06:07I am glad, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am glad

06:11that Pakistan Navy is playing an important role in the regional security

06:17by being part of a multinational maritime coalition

06:22It has instituted national maritime security patrols

06:27under its national mandate that reflects our resolve and commitment

06:32to providing a conductive maritime environment in the region

06:45Ladies and Gentlemen, I am confident

06:49that the induction of these ships into the Pakistan Navy Fleet

06:53will consolidate and enable the fleet to meet

06:59the ever-growing operational responsibilities

07:03Induction of PNS Babur and PNS Hunain

07:08will provide the fleet with enhanced firepower, greater reach

07:14and more lethality to boost our capability

07:20in countering both conventional as well as asymmetric threats

07:30I would also like to congratulate the builders, the ship construction teams

07:36for ensuring quality products that will serve Pakistan Navy

07:40for a long time to come

07:42I would also like to appreciate the dedication, hard work and commitment

07:49of all workers, technicians, engineers and managers

07:55associated with the project, not only from Pakistan

08:00but also from Turkey and Demand

08:04My compliments to the teams at MSASFAT, Turkish Navy,

08:12Istanbul Shipyard, Demand Shipyard, Golati

08:18and all OEMs involved in this project

08:25I am sure that induction of these ships will be stepping the stone

08:31for more avenues of cooperation

08:35In the end, I wish the commanding officers and crew of PNS Babur and Hunain

08:46a godspeed in all their endeavors

08:49May these ships sail smooth in the high seas

08:54to secure Pakistan maritime interests and keep Pakistan's flag flying high
