00:00It wasn't just one part of a system, it was every single bit of the system systematically
00:06failing people and for me the first absolute priority of any government is to keep its
00:12citizens safe and this is an element of that as well and that means that we've got to
00:17do more. Those recommendations of 58 that were part of that report yesterday, we have
00:22to look at them now like the Prime Minister says and those that we could do more quickly
00:27we will but we will look through those recommendations and do everything we possibly can to make sure
00:33that people are safe in their own homes. When I spoke to the survivors and the families
00:38of the victims who lost their lives at Grenfell, they want change and they want justice and
00:45whilst there has been changes that have been made and many of those changes are to the
00:50credit of those that have bravely fought for it, for not just about what happened to themselves
00:55and their loved ones but for people who today are still living in high-rise blocks that
01:00need this remediation work to be carried out, that change for me has not come quickly enough
01:05in particular around remediation and it's very clear to me in the initial looking at
01:11those recommendations there will need to be further legislation and we will look at working
01:16at pace to ensure that we bring about those changes.
