00:45The deportees were described by a government spokesperson as convicted criminals who did

00:51not have the right to stay in Germany and against whom deportation orders had been issued.

00:58Those deported reportedly had convictions for rape, serious arson and manslaughter.

01:05German Chancellor Olaf Scholz described the move as a clear sign that those who commit

01:09crimes cannot count on Germany not deporting them.

01:13However, the move has been met with criticism.

01:20Amnesty International's German branch said the government had bowed to political pressure

01:24during an election campaign and that Afghanistan was not safe, so deportations there violate

01:30international law.

01:36French President Emmanuel Macron has signed a deal with President Alexander Vucic to sell

01:40Serbia 12 Rafale fighter jets.

01:44The announcement was made during a news conference in Belgrade during Macron's visit to strengthen

01:49Serbia's ties with the European Union.

01:52Macron called the deal historic and important.

02:13Serbia needs to upgrade its fleet and Vucic said the Rafale deal was huge news.

02:19The total value of the deal is 2.7 billion, 12 completely new aircraft will be owned by

02:26the Republic of Serbia.

02:34Russia has been the traditional supplier of military aircraft to Serbia, which has refused

02:38to join international sanctions against Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine.

02:43Macron warned that after the Russian invasion, Serbia's balancing game between world powers

02:48was an illusion.

02:50He said Serbia will only be able to protect its interests and preserve its identity as

02:54part of the EU.

03:19But selling Rafales to Russian ally Serbia, which has occasionally expressed an aggressive

03:27stance towards its Balkan neighbors, has raised some concerns.

03:32One of those is how France plans to prevent sophisticated Rafale technology from being

03:36shared with Russia.

03:48Meteorologies across the Reykjanes Peninsula as a volcano in southwest Iceland continues

03:53to erupt.

03:54The Icelandic Meteorological Agency said jets from the latest eruption have been particularly

04:00high and that's spread the so-called witch's hair over a wide area.

04:04The Iceland Review travel website says as it's essentially fiberglass, witch's hair

04:09shouldn't be touched with bare hands.

04:12The eruption, which began on August 22 following a series of earthquakes, continues to pull

04:18in international visitors to Iceland.

04:21This is the sixth time the volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula has erupted since December.

04:27Authorities say the eruption's effects remain localized with road closures but don't threaten

04:32the population.

04:34Iceland, which sits above a volcanic hotspot in the North Atlantic, averages one eruption

04:39every four to five years.

04:42The most disruptive in recent times was the 2010 eruption, which sent clouds of ash into

04:47the atmosphere and disrupted air travel for months.
