Happy Friday to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:04
The low tide or southwest monsoon is still raging here in the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
00:11
We can only hope that the rains and storms will stop in the remaining parts of our country.
00:17
We have cloud clusters that are being monitored here in the West Philippine Sea
00:21
and even here outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, outside our area of responsibility in the east of Mindanao.
00:29
We are not taking away the chance that this will be a low-pressure area within 24 hours and our TAR will also enter.
00:36
And it is possible that on the first days of September, it will still bring rains to a large part of our country,
00:43
especially in southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
00:48
Today, we still expect rains in the western sections of Luzon, including Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro
00:55
because of the southwest monsoon or low tide.
00:58
Expect light to moderate, with at times, heavy rains and dark weather in these areas.
01:04
Still be careful of possible floods and landslides.
01:08
In the remaining parts of Luzon, expect parts to be cloudy.
01:11
Sometimes, there are cloudy skies and there are areas this morning that are sunny.
01:16
While here in the Ibicol Region, before noon, it is possible for there to be heavy rains or landslides.
01:22
While in the remaining parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila,
01:25
it is also possible for isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to last for 2 to 3 hours.
01:32
In Metro Manila, the temperature is between 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
01:36
Likewise, in parts of Lawag and Legazpi, it is possible for it to be up to 32 degrees Celsius.
01:41
While in Tuguegarao and Cagayan, it is possible for it to be up to 35 degrees Celsius air temperature.
01:47
To our fellow countrymen in Palawan, it is still possible for heavy rain showers and landslides.
01:52
Sometimes, it becomes stronger, especially in the afternoon.
01:55
This is the effect of the southwest monsoon.
01:58
While here in a large part of Visayas, it is possible for it to be cloudy.
02:01
Often, the skies are cloudy here in the northern portion, in Panay Island and Samar Provinces.
02:07
There are only occasional rains and landslides in a large part of Visayas,
02:12
when it reaches afternoon and evening.
02:15
The temperature in Metro Cebu is between 27 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:20
Lastly, to our fellow countrymen in Mindanao,
02:22
it is also possible for the skies to be cloudy from morning to afternoon.
02:26
While it reaches afternoon to evening,
02:28
there are areas where there will be heavy rain showers or localized thunderstorms
02:33
that will last for 1 to 2 hours.
02:37
The temperature in Metro Davao and Zamboanga City is between 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.
02:45
For the next four days,
02:49
it is possible for cloud clusters to enter our area of responsibility
02:56
and become a low-pressure area.
02:58
When it enters the PAR,
03:00
it is possible for it to move in the direction of northern Caluran
03:02
while it is here in the Caragatan, the Philippine Sea,
03:04
and it will remain far from our land.
03:07
The effect of the trough or the extension that we mentioned,
03:11
the weather disturbance,
03:13
plus it is also possible for it to have an influence
03:15
on the spread of Southwest Monsoon or Habagat
03:17
here in the areas on the other side of our country.
03:20
By tomorrow, on Saturday,
03:22
it is possible for there to be rains here on the eastern side
03:25
because of the trough, especially in the afternoon,
03:27
in the Samar Provinces, Caraga Region,
03:30
and areas in the Davao Region,
03:32
especially in Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro.
03:34
So be careful of the rains there.
03:36
It is possible for there to be floods and landslides
03:39
while the Southwest Monsoon will still remain weak
03:42
and it will bring rains in Palawan
03:44
and parts of the Zamboanga Peninsula,
03:46
Bangsamoro Region, and Sok Sa Djen,
03:48
especially tomorrow afternoon until the evening.
03:51
Then, when the first days of September arrive,
03:54
that's Sunday until Tuesday,
03:56
there will be more places where there will be rains.
03:59
This is the effect of the Southwest Monsoon
04:02
plus the effect of the low-pressure area
04:04
as it slowly moves up to the eastern portions
04:07
of Bicol Region and eastern Visayas.
04:10
So there are areas like here in Mimaropa,
04:13
Bicol Region, a large part of Visayas,
04:16
Zamboanga Peninsula, northern Mindanao,
04:18
and Caraga Region where there will be rains
04:20
from Sunday until Tuesday.
04:23
So sometimes, there will be heavy rains
04:25
so be careful of possible floods and landslides.
04:28
And always stay tuned for our updates
04:30
because it's possible for us to raise
04:32
heavy rainfall warnings and rainfall advisories.
04:35
When Monday to Tuesday arrives,
04:37
there is a high chance of rain
04:39
here in Calabar Zone and in Metro Manila
04:42
and in parts of Central Luzon,
04:44
especially in Mezambales and Bataan.
04:46
There is also an effect of the LPA trough
04:48
or weather disturbance plus the Southwest Monsoon.
04:52
So bring an umbrella if you're going out of the house
04:55
and be careful of possible floods
04:57
and landslides.
04:58
And always coordinate with your local government units
05:01
for possible evacuations
05:03
if there will be heavy rains
05:05
and there is a high chance of floods and landslides.
05:09
Our sunrises are still at 5.44am
05:12
and our south sunset at 6.09pm is part of the early hours.
05:16
That's the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
05:19
I'm Benison Escareja.
05:21
Take care.
