This Czech-Ukrainian choir, called the Soniašnik Sunflower, was founded in Lithuania in 2022.
00:14
After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, members sing Czech and Ukrainian
00:20
songs to support Ukrainian soldiers.
00:24
They sell Ukraine-themed T-shirts, bracelets and souvenirs.
00:28
We have released a brand new CD with Soniašnik, which is called Ještě chvíli.
00:33
Ukraine, hold on, we want to help, and more, and more, and more, before the terrible war ends.
00:41
And I'm looking forward to going to Ukraine and visiting all the friends who sing with me here in Lithuania today.
00:48
The initiative raised over 2 million crowns, about 80,000 euros.
00:54
The CD for our collection means, I hope, the beginning, but it is the result of the two-year work and our effort.
01:02
It is something that we can already understand, offer, show and sell, and send the profit back to Ukraine.
01:10
The choir meets for rehearsal every week and puts on dozens of charity performances a year.
01:17
We enjoy with girls because we can be part of help for our homeland.
01:24
And from other side, it's big hope about our future victory.
01:30
This CD, I think, make our victory closer.
01:34
The money that the choir raises is used to buy medical kits and strapping, which are sent to Ukrainian soldiers on the front line.
01:50
The Czechs still remember well the anniversary of the occupation in 1968, organized by the Kremlin.
01:56
They remembered it just a few days ago, on August 21, and they don't want to experience such a horror anymore.
02:01
That's why there is so much help in Ukraine.
02:04
Jiří Skáncel, Euronews, Lithuania.
