00:00I think you know cricket is a is a growing sport across the world especially in the women and girls game
00:06And that's putting additional pressure pressure on groundsmen and curators around the world
00:11You know they haven't got enough grass pitches to cope with the demand
00:14The hybrid pitches give you an easy solution to that without having to build new stadiums
00:22So this is where we see a big advantage for the association certainly in India
00:27The amount of cricket is not going to get any less the pressure on grounds is going to increase
00:33And hybrid pitches potentially through sys pitches will improve that situation and give you the ability of coping with the demand for
00:42Good good pitches at the main stadiums and also in the local community because I think if we can
00:49Provide good quality services for up-and-coming young cricketers in the academies in the local cricket clubs
00:56Maybe in the school of colleges and universities around the country it means that their talent development will be accelerated
01:03And it's a great example. You know if you've got the IPL players playing on on pitches or
01:09international white ball cricket being played on hybrid pitches, and they can play on the same sort of surface as
01:1614 or 15 year old that could only be good for the game
01:20The pitches have been approved by the ECB since 2019
01:25For all white ball cricket in 2024 so this season
01:28They're being used for four-day County Championship cricket as a trial to see how they react over a four-day period
01:34Initial feedback has been really positive on that
01:37It's not approved for test match cricket yet, but the ICC approved it for all white ball cricket in
01:432022 so it's got the right sort of approvals in place for it to be utilized at all levels within the game so
01:50Hopefully it's something that will be of interest to to the state associations
01:54And to the wider audience within the country
