00:00The WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of an influential patriarch of the legendary

00:07Onoahe family, Afa Onoahe.

00:13Alongside his brother Sika, Afa would rise to prominence as one half of the iconic tag

00:17team, the Wild Samoans.

00:24One of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, I love to watch Afa and Sika.

00:30The way they connect with an audience, it's just phenomenal.

00:33Throughout the 1970s and the 1980s, there was no tag team that held as many tag team

00:38championships as the Wild Samoans.

00:43Wanting to mentor the next generation of his lineage, Afa guided his son Samu and his nephew

00:48Rikishi toward even more tag team gold for the Onoahe family.

01:03Following an illustrious career, Afa and his brother Sika would have their names immortalized

01:08as members of the WWE Hall of Fame.

01:14Eager to give back to professional wrestling, Afa would open the Wild Samoan Training Center

01:19to help prepare future superstars.

01:22When I first showed up at Afa's, I think he was really excited to have me walk through

01:25the door and start training.

01:27And he actually took the time to get to know me.

01:32Along with the center, Afa and his wife Lynn established a foundation that awarded scholarships

01:37to disadvantaged youth, changing lives and helping to fulfill countless dreams.

01:45Through his numerous contributions in and out of the ring, Afa became a beloved role

01:50model for his family and peers.

01:54He will always be known as a pillar of the Onoahe legacy, whose passion and kind nature

02:01will live on through WWE forever.

02:04I'm going to say what my mother used to tell us.

02:10What that mean is, take care of each other and trust in God.
