Parents tell kids their birthdays are different day each year

Parents Abbie and Callum Guy have admitted they "lie to their children" in telling them their birthdays are on a different day every year.

00:00We have lied to our children almost every year. We tell them their birthday

00:05is on a different date to what it actually is, with the main reason being

00:09that we just want to be able to spend their whole birthday with them and give

00:13them the best day. My husband has had to work away on quite a lot of my

00:17children's birthdays so he will be sad to miss it and the children will be sad

00:21that he's not there. So what we do is we tell them that their birthday is on a

00:26date that is convenient for us all, because at the end of the day it really

00:29is about who you spend your time with, that's the most important thing. Because

00:33both of my children are still so young they have no concept of time really, so

00:39if I tell them it's their birthday in two days they just think it's their

00:43birthday in two days. As they get older I totally appreciate that we won't be

00:47able to do this forever, however while they are still so young we want to make

00:51things as magical as we can with the whole family together.
