New cafe opens in former Natwest bank

Cafe owners Mark Richards and Kat Simpson talk about opening a cafe in a former Natwest bank

00:00So we decided a few years ago that we quite liked the idea of running a cafe together

00:06and then when we settled in Tombridge five years ago this place has really felt like home for us

00:13and then this amazing building came on the market and yeah we completed in October last year.

00:20I'm from Wellington in New Zealand and there's a big cafe culture in New Zealand and also the

00:27the idea of a place that goes from you know in the morning where you get amazing coffee and then

00:32you can get lovely food and then it goes right through to dinner time and you know a bar and a

00:37restaurant. So we love that concept and I think you know we love Tombridge and there's lots of

00:42amazing places to eat but we just really wanted to create the kind of place that we would want

00:45to go to. We've got a really lovely team and it's been really nice like just welcoming people in

00:51from Tombridge and yeah it's been really good so far. And I think the feeling we've had ever since

00:59you know we've made it known that this is what we're building in Tombridge, the local community

01:03have been so supportive of us, the council have been really supportive, everybody who's had some

01:09involvement and you know I really feel like people want us to succeed with this endeavour so that's

01:16that's a lovely feeling and we you know we're so happy to open the doors today for the first time.
