Firefighters continue to battle five wildfires in Turkey

Portugal has also sent a special task force to Madeira to help fight a fire burning on the island since Wednesday.

00:13Madeira Island, with three active fronts according to Madeira's civil protection.

00:19In response, Lisbon sent a special force of 80 firefighters to the autonomous region.

00:26Whilst the central parish of Serra de Agua is hit with landslides following the fire,

00:31hundreds of people have been evacuated as a precaution.

00:35Several walking routes and leisure areas have also been closed in Madeira.

00:41In the northwestern Spanish town of Trabazos, a wildfire close to the border of Portugal

00:46broke out on Saturday, causing the evacuation and the closure of a national road.

00:51According to the mayor of the village, it could be an arson due to the circumstances

00:55and the time of the day.
