00:00Hundreds of civil servants flocked to the Public Service Remuneration System, or SSPA
00:07Salary Calculator Service Counters, during the Public Service Special Address event on
00:11Friday.
00:12They found out about their expected salary increase once the first phase of the SSPA
00:18is implemented in December this year.
00:20The SSPA Salary Calculator Service, which has gone online on the Public Service Department's
00:25website, provides an overview of each civil servant's salary increase, with the displayed
00:31amount not including allowances.
00:34Civil servants at the event were pleased with the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri
00:39Anwar Ibrahim on a 15 percent salary adjustment for civil servants in the Implementing, Management
00:46and Professional groups, and 7 percent for those in the Top Management group.
00:51I think the announcement on the increment is something that is long-awaited by the civil
00:57servants.
00:58I think about 12 years, as mentioned by the Prime Minister just now.
01:01This will strive for motivation for all civil servants to work harder.
01:06Once again, thank you and I hope for my team, we're looking forward for our staff to do
01:14better and strive for the better performance and give the best to the public.
01:20Once we know how much the salary increase is, maybe we can save or use some of the allocations.
01:28I'm happy, I've been working for a long time, this is the first time for me to increase my salary.
01:34I live in JB, so when we work with Singapore, the salary is very, very high.
01:41So I'm very, very happy.
01:44They said the salary increase should motivate the public sector to deliver better services
01:49to the people.
01:50Business operators and analysts lauded the move, saying that it will spur productivity
01:55and boost the nation's economy.
