00:00New born babies wear mittens like this on their hands, but actually mittens are not necessary.

00:07Even if you wear mittens, remove them during breastfeeding time.

00:12Because the baby has a sense of touch with the hand, so it tries to assess the environment.

00:19Similarly, by leaving the hands free during feeding time, it touches the mother.

00:24By doing so, the mother releases the oxytocin and the bond between the mother and the baby develops.

00:30Similarly, there are hunger cues.

00:32When the babies are hungry, they put their hands in their mouths and do this.

00:37By detecting these hunger cues, it helps to feed the baby accordingly.

00:41So, mittens are not necessary.

00:44And at least when breastfeeding, remove the mittens.

00:48Talk to the baby, touch the baby and let the baby also touch you while breastfeeding.
