01:14Modernity is synonymous with social ruin.

01:47a way of being in the world by eating the world.
01:54The same way you bring down a mountain
01:56and produce ore and produce iron and steel,
01:59you produce war and kill people.

02:04We could have chosen something else.
02:06We could have chosen, for example,
02:09not to go out there killing everything.
02:12If you don't leave this land,
02:14we'll tie you up on the plane,
02:16throw your family in the middle of the river,
02:19put fish to eat you.
02:22We'll kill you.
02:23This land is not yours, my father said, this land is mine.
02:26Only our firm resistance can prevent this tragedy
02:54from being irreversible for the indigenous peoples
03:00and for planetary life.
03:05The future is ancestral.
03:09It's everything that has already existed.
03:11It's not what's there somewhere.
03:13It's what's here.
