00:16Or so I thought.

00:25We've done a lot of coverage recently on Moana 2 news and trailers, and it doesn't
00:28look like it's going to slow down any time soon.
00:31It was just a month ago we got our first look at the second Moana movie, and now Disney
00:36has released a new official teaser in the form of a first look image.
00:39The image features an obviously older Moana on some kind of adventure at sea with a determined
00:44look on her face.
00:46She is also holding an oar with Maui's fish hook and a heart engraved on it, which is
00:50super cute.
00:52I think what's most interesting, though, is whatever is happening in the back of the
00:55shot as we see what looks to be an island that very well may actually be a giant monster
01:01based on the eyes, tentacles, and a giant mouth.
01:05Story-wise, we also learned that the movie will catch up with our cast of characters
01:09three years after her first voyage.
01:12Moana is on an expansive journey in search of people beyond the shores of Motunui.
01:16Joined by Maui and a brand new crew of unlikely seafarers, Moana must journey to the far seas
01:22of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she's
01:27ever faced.
01:28I gotta admit, I am somewhat taken aback by how different Moana looks.
01:33I don't know if it's the aging or something to do with the animation.
01:36I say that because, if you didn't know, rumors on the street are that months ago,
01:41Disney execs got a look at the nearly finished episodes of the long-developed Moana series
01:45and decided to instead combine these episodes into a single theatrical movie.
01:50Many have already compared this to similar situations like the Clone Wars movie when
01:54they just basically meshed together four episodes of the show into a movie and it was kind of
01:59a total disaster.
02:01Fans have also been worried as the legendary Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose fingerprints were
02:05all over the original, won't return to create music for the sequel.
02:09Before you get too worried, there is some positive news.
02:12Despite not originally being the case for the animated show, Ali E. Cravalho and Dwayne
02:17Johnson are both returning for the sequel.
02:20So yeah, Moana 2 is definitely going to be one we are going to be watching carefully
02:24to see how it shakes out upon its November 27th release date.
