00:00Vince McMahon health fears, Dominik Mysterio calls out Logan Paul, my review of AEW Dynamite
00:06and more.
00:07I'm Oli Davis, and this is the WrestleTalk News.

00:15It's been almost 8 months since Vince McMahon resigned from WWE and TKO following Janelle
00:20Grant's lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and trafficking.
00:24All the updates since then have been through solicitors, with Vince's side denying and
00:28attempting to discredit Grant's accusations, and Grant's lawyers trying to attain her
00:32medical records.
00:34In June, the lawsuit was paused due to a larger federal investigation into McMahon, but there
00:39has now been a report providing a direct update on Vince himself.
00:45According to Lee Cole, the brother of late WWE employee Tom Cole, who was at the centre
00:49of the Ring Boy scandal in the early 90s, has claimed that Linda McMahon has been telling
00:54people close to her that since Vince was forced to step down from WWE, his health is
00:59deteriorating fast.
01:01He barely gets out, that's why you don't see him out in public.
01:05There has been no word from Vince's representation on these claims.
01:08He is set to turn 79 on August 24th.
01:12But Vince, of course, infamously wore a neck brace to his steroid trial in the early 90s,
01:16having elected to undergo surgery shortly before, which some believe was to garner sympathy
01:21in court.
01:22And as recently as March, NBC News reported McMahon was well enough to return from a holiday
01:27on the sunny Turks and Caucasus Islands, but he wasn't alone.
01:30According to a person close to him, he had with him seven kittens and a puppy, all of
01:35which he'd brought back to be adopted by his friends.
01:39Speaking of controversy, how about that Logan Paul?
01:43From being the target of scam exposer Coffeezilla, to being sued, to weighing in on the women's
01:48boxing controversy during the Olympics, Paul has likely been a huge PR headache for WWE.
01:54But that didn't stop them sending Dirty Dominik Mysterio to his Impulsive Podcast,
02:00where Dom joked about arguably Logan's biggest ever controversy, when he released a video
02:04of him finding a dead body in Japan in late 2017, all while wearing this Toy Story alien
02:12hat.
02:13Dom had recently returned from a WWE tour in Japan, and, knowing full well what he was
02:17doing, asked if Paul had ever been to Japan.
02:20Asked if he'd been shadowbanned, and whether he'd wear the hat again.
02:24Paul, who looked visibly annoyed, said he is not banned from Japan, and would return
02:29there if invited by WWE.
02:32Following MGF getting an easy dub over Michael Obu, I mean Oku, at the Rev Pro show last
02:38Sunday, Fightful Select is reporting Oku and his partner Amira are both expected to sign
02:43with AEW.
02:45Apparently they will likely feature at All In, where you'd assume they would be in
02:48the Ospreay vs MJF feud.
02:50Oku was Ospreay's storied rival in Rev Pro over the last several years.
02:55And speaking of, let's hear from our special American correspondent!
03:00Hey MJF!
03:02Hey aging boner.
03:04Because of the greys, did you get the joke?
03:11I'm just clarifying.
03:12It's grey pubes, do you understand the joke?
03:15It's because you have a lot of grey hair and you're aging really poorly.
03:20But you can go on, you can continue.
03:22Yeah, well, of course, you're our special American correspondent to give the American
03:26perspective on things over here in the UK.
03:28On this day, a hundred years ago, the British Metropolitan Police Force established their
03:35own detective division.
03:36What's your American take on that?
03:39I didn't know you guys had a police force because, you know, based on what I've seen,
03:43there's a lot of rioting going on with these men and they're bald and they have these interesting
03:48insignias.
03:49What do you call them?
03:50Nazis.
03:51Nazis.
03:52Got it.
03:53And also, you would think there'd be an investigation into the fact as to why every single Englishman
03:58has yellow crooked teeth.
04:01Speaking of yellow crooked teeth, Will Ospreay, I will be facing Will Ospreay August 25th,
04:07get your tickets today so you can watch an American hero defeat, let's face it, a lesser
04:15Englishman.
04:16It's nice that you touched me here, because I thought people might think we've just green
04:21screened you in or something.
04:22No, of course not.
04:23I can actually prove it.
04:24Do you want to shake hands?
04:25Yeah, yeah.
04:26I love it.
04:27August 25th, get your tickets today.
04:37Now it's time for my review of AEW Dynamite… in about 5 minutes.
04:41For the first time in a month, an MJF segment didn't open Dynamite.
04:45So instead of… dun.
04:47Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun
04:56dun.
04:57It's uncanny.
04:58We got CEO.
04:59CEO.
05:00CEO.
05:01CEO.
05:02CEO.
05:03But then came angle time.
05:19Britt Baker's entrance music hit.
05:21Camille recognised someone wearing the same disguise Britt had before in the front row,
05:25so she beat the bricks out of them.
05:27But it was all a ruse, letting Baker attack Monet in the ring.
05:31Unfortunately, the backstage drama rumours have knocked how into Baker I was from before.
05:36But more pressingly, what happened to that actually random fan?
05:39I'm going to need you to lay low for a while, Camille.
05:41You should find yourself a brick house or a relative close by.
05:44Almost as if they never stopped brawling after last week's episode went off air, Hangman
05:48Page then attacked Jay Lethal during a backstage interview, which sprawled out into the arena
05:52for their match.
05:53For a few topes there, Jay Lethal recaptured his best era from the mid-2010s, hitting his
05:59trademark multiple dives to the outside early on.
06:01But this ultimately ended up being a dominant, angry win for Hangman.
06:06We got a video recap of MJF beating Michael Oku at Rev Pro last Sunday, where Will Ospreay
06:10made the save, which followed into a really good recap of the Max vs Ospreay feud so far.
06:16There was no mention of the confetti that got in my beer, which is kind of a major plot
06:19point there.
06:20And oh yeah, PAC, he's got that international title shot too.
06:24Forgot about that.
06:25He had a backstage promo where he declared he's facing the winner from All In at All
06:28Out Shake It All About.
06:30This was a more video promo heavy show than usual, to build the feuds for All In.
06:34And we got another one next from Darby Allin, where he said Jack Perry was only hired to
06:38AEW because he was friends with the Young Bucks, that he wished Perry got fired after
06:42brawling and, oh boy, a beefy five layer burrito is good value.
06:47Darby made his way out to the ring, but Perry attacked him during his entrance, brawled
06:51to the back, crushed Darby under a metal shutter, and set up a coffin match between
06:56them for All In.
06:57Mariah May got her version of a Tony Storm film, which dropped the black and white S-word
07:01to just be more of a normal video promo.
07:03Far more effective was Renee talking to Mina Shurikawa afterwards, who was really sad about
07:07being caught in the middle.
07:09In lieu of really good six man action, this week's Dynamite gave us really good three
07:12man action, with Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Karl O'Reilly wrestling through
07:16two commercial breaks to decide the number one entrant for the Casino Gauntlet match.
07:22Not only was this terrifically wrestled, the character allegiances were constantly shifting,
07:26with Karl and Cassidy being part of the conglomeration, but Karl also having the occasional bit of
07:31wrestling muscle memory and hitting old Undisputed Era moves in tandem with Strong.
07:36Mark Briscoe and Ishii fought off Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, and Cassidy eventually got
07:40a Crucifix pin on Kyle, his own faction mate, to win.
07:43Of all the mid cards in AEW, this is probably my favourite.
07:47Because Claudio and Okada didn't quite live up to the promotional hype for me.
07:51One of the main things advertised for this episode was the two going face-to-face ahead
07:55of their Continental Championship match next week.
07:58What we got, though, was a couple of minutes backstage of a directionless Claudio and a
08:01goofy Okada.
08:03Claudio said he wants the real Rainmaker next week, and the word c*** was used twice.
08:07Christian told Renee he's going to win all the belts in AEW, and that she's a bad mother.
08:12Tony Schiavone gave Hook the IT'S HOOOOOOOOK treatment for a brief in-ring interview,
08:18which led to Jericho setting up their FTW title match for All In, where if Hook loses,
08:22he can't challenge for the belt again.
08:24Hook will face Big Bill next week.
08:26In what I feel should've had a more prominent spot on the card, either as the opener or
08:30closer, the Young Bucks had their first tag title defence since winning the belts four
08:35months ago, in their feud with the Acclaimed, which started back in May.
08:39The match was really good, with Daddy Ass getting ejected from ringside, Anthony Bowens
08:43perfectly selling being worked over, which all built to Max Caster's hot tag.
08:47But then a ref bump allowed Matt Jackson to kick Caster in the balls and go to use the
08:51title belt as a weapon when FTR ran down for the save and attacked the Bucks.
08:56The Jacksons win via DQ, furthering the Acclaimed's tension with FTR, including a really nice
09:02touch of Daddy Ass trying to explain to Caster that Dax and Cash were trying to help.
09:07Adam Pearce, Christopher Daniels then telepathically communicated with Tony Khan backstage to book
09:11the Acclaimed vs FTR 4 collision to decide the No. 1 contender for All In.
09:16And then something unpredictable happened, but in the end, it's right, it's the best
09:22part of the whole episode.
09:25A video package recapping the entirety of Bryan Danielson's career that AEW have the
09:30footage for.
09:31From Ring of Honor, to Colt Cabana's Wrestling Road Diaries film, to PWG, to his best moment
09:36in AEW, to New Japan, all set to Green Day's Time of Your Life.
09:41It was incredible, and it's the best thing they've done so far to get over the truly
09:45historic repercussions to Danielson's career on the line match.
09:49While someone has to, because I'm still not getting that Bryan's all that bothered
09:53going by his onscreen performances.
09:56Danielson was in the front row for the main event of Swerve Strictland, mostly battering
09:59Wheeler Yuta as a taster for what Swerve will do to Danielson at All In.
10:04Three house calls, loads of ground and pound, but surprisingly no blood, and Swerve won
10:08via ref stoppage.
10:10Strictland then went the most heel he's been since cutting a promo on Hangman's
10:13Baby last October, promising to help Danielson keep his promise to his daughter by ending
10:20his career for him.
10:22He then attacked Danielson from behind, and did slow, heelish, yes chants.
10:27This week's AEW Dynamite is 73%.
10:31Now go watch Dom Allen being way too scared playing Alien Isolation over on our video
11:01It's coming over here, it's coming over here, it's coming over here.
11:11Oh, it tripped us!
11:15It's having fun at our expense!
11:17It knows us, it knows that we're useless!
