00:00I love you.
00:05Welcome to MissMojo and today we're counting down our picks for the most memorable movie
00:10kisses that were immediately followed by heartbreak.
00:13Major spoilers here, so beware.
00:16Now, now.
00:18Who's looking at you, kid?
00:22Number 10.
00:23James Bond and Tracy on Her Majesty's Secret Service.
00:27Mrs. Bond shot up and doted it all at once.
00:32At the end of the sixth James Bond film, the secret agent is determined to retire and settle
00:37down with his new wife, Tracy.
00:39The newlyweds have escaped death once.
00:42This time, they won't be so lucky.
00:45As they stop beside the road to share a last kiss, Ernst Stavro Blofeld and his henchwoman
00:51Irma Bundt blast their getaway car with bullets.
00:58The indestructible 007 is unscathed.
01:01Tracy is not so lucky.
01:03The film ends with a rare sight, an emotional James Bond.
01:07The agent cradles his dead wife's body, leaving viewers with an uncharacteristically somber
01:13ending for the high-flying spy franchise.
01:21Number 9.
01:22Sam and Molly, Ghost.
01:25It's easily one of the most famous love scenes in movie history, and it's amazing to think
01:30that the kiss comes so early in the film.
01:40Ghost single-handedly makes pottery sexy, and the song Unchained Melody is synonymous
01:45with movie romance.
01:47As Sam and Molly kiss and cuddle over her spinning pottery wheel, it is just hotness
01:51overload.
01:53As you watch the movie and see what comes next, you realize it's one of the couple's
01:57last happy times together.
02:04In the next sequence, Sam is murdered, causing a dead man to try and take care of unfinished
02:09business in the land of the living before moving on to the afterlife.
02:24Number 8.
02:25Chiron and Kevin, Moonlight.
02:27Teenagers Chiron and Kevin are forced to hide their budding attraction.
02:35Even after a profound and intimate moment on the beach, the two must act like they don't
02:40know each other at school.
02:42To maintain his status and keep his feelings a secret from his friends, Kevin is forced
02:46to haze Chiron.
02:52This culminates with Kevin having to hit Chiron.
02:56The scene is torturous.
02:58He begs Chiron to stay down, but Chiron refuses, taking the hit and forcing Kevin and his friends
03:04to go through with the beating.
03:13Number 7.
03:14Kim and Edward, Edward Scissorhands.
03:17Relationships are complicated.
03:20When one half of the couple has literal scissors for hands, it's bound to create a unique
03:25set of problems.
03:26Kim is a teenage girl who falls for the peculiar titular character, who more than lives up
03:31to his name.
03:33But after tragedy strikes and the townspeople turn on him, she realizes that if he's going
03:38to stay safe, she can never be with him.
03:47She must convince the gathered mob that Edward Scissorhands has died, but not before giving
03:52him one last kiss.
03:59The worst part is that they'll live the rest of their lives just up the road from
04:03each other.
04:04Talk about a bittersweet ending.
04:11Number 6.
04:12Vader and Thomas J, My Girl.
04:22This coming-of-age story about a mortician's daughter and her best friend is charming and
04:27low-key traumatizing.
04:29Vader Sultanfus and her friend Thomas J spend most of their time hanging out in the woods
04:34and talking about subjects too mature for them to really understand.
04:43After sharing a sweet and relatively innocent kiss one afternoon, a smiling Thomas J stumbles
04:48upon a beehive they'd knocked down earlier.
04:51He's swarmed by bees and dies of an allergic reaction off-screen.
04:56This scene is devastating and may have taught many young viewers about the suddenness of
05:01death and loss.
05:08Number 5.
05:09Tony and Maria, West Side Story.
05:12This musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet takes place among feuding gangs in the mid-century
05:18Manhattan.
05:19Caught between two warring gangs, Tony kills Maria's brother in a melee and begs her forgiveness.
05:25They reaffirm their love while singing the emotional ballad, Somewhere.
05:33They end the scene with an iconic kiss framed against beautiful colored lights pouring from
05:38the window.
05:54They have one more kiss after Anita arrives home and confronts Maria about the boy who
05:59killed her brother.
06:01Little do they know, it'll be their last embrace before Tony's death.
06:05He is shot down in the street before they can reunite and Maria's final kiss is upon
06:11Tony's dead lips.
06:18Number 4.
06:19Rick Blaine and Ilsa Lund, Casablanca.
06:23Rick and Ilsa met and fell in passionate love in Paris only to have their love irrevocably
06:28changed by the Nazi occupation.
06:31Told in flashback, their last kisses are made as soldiers approach the city.
06:41The whole scene is full of longing and grief that's not apparent to him at first.
06:46It's just after this that Ilsa leaves him without warning or explanation and Rick's
06:51entire world changes.
07:00Her fateful request to kiss her like it's the last time is filled with even more meaning
07:05in retrospect.
07:12Though Ilsa's reasons are made clear later, the same war that tore them apart once does
07:17so again at the end of the movie.
07:19As Rick Blaine reminds his lost love,
07:22We'll always have Paris.
07:23Number 3.
07:24Scotty and Judy, Vertigo.
07:27Wracked with guilt over the death of Madeline, the woman he fell in love with, agoraphobic
07:32detective Scotty Ferguson spirals into obsession when he finds out he was the pawn in an elaborate
07:38murder plot.
07:39Judy, the woman's doppelganger and an accomplice to her murder, is similarly wracked with guilt.
07:45Feeling betrayed, Scotty takes her to the top of the bell tower, where Madeline supposedly
07:50took her life and made her confess.
08:00Their cathartic and intense kiss is interrupted by a nun, who emerges from the shadows like
08:05a ghost.
08:12Judy's panic and subsequent fall provides one of the most haunting endings in movie
08:17history.
08:25Number 2.
08:27Jack and Rose, Titanic.
08:29There are a lot of great kisses in James Cameron's epic love story, but the one right before
08:35the title ship hits the iceberg is by far the most curse.
08:40Rose tells Jack that when the ship docks in New York, she's leaving her fiancé behind
08:44and going with him.
08:50Rose's sacrifice is huge.
08:52Yes, her mother is terrible and her fiancé is worse, but she's throwing away everything
08:58she knows for him.
09:02The scene already has an air of sadness about it.
09:05We know what's coming, but they don't.
09:08They have no idea the ship will be at the bottom of the Atlantic by the next morning.

09:36Number 1.
09:37Romeo and Juliet – Romeo plus Juliet
09:40The sumptuous but contemporary setting of Baz Luhrmann's remake of the Shakespeare
09:45classic made its famous climax all the more painful to watch.
09:49A series of misunderstandings leads Romeo to believe his love Juliet has died.
09:55He drinks poison rather than be without her, but not before kissing her supposedly lifeless
10:00corpse on the altar where she lies in repose.
10:08Of course she's not dead, but she's too late to stop him.
10:18Their shared fate is what helped Shakespeare's most famous tragedy set the standard for doomed
10:23lovers, and actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes brings it to heartbreaking life.
10:30Did these doomed romances break your heart?
