More deaths in Khan Younis after Israeli airstrikes kill at least 21, forcing thousands to flee

A wave of Israeli airstrikes killed at least 21 Palestinians in the city of Khan Younis, authorities said on Friday. On the same day, an Israeli strike killed a Hamas official in southern Lebanon.

00:00Israeli airstrikes into the southern Gaza Strip city of Can Yunis killed at least 21 Palestinians, according to local health officials.

00:09The airstrikes came after Israeli evacuation orders triggered another exodus of Palestinians from heavily destroyed districts within the city,

00:18where many had only just returned to following Israel's last incursion in July.

00:23Thousands were forced to flee the city, carrying essentials like tents, backpacks and blankets.

00:29It's at least the third time Israeli forces launched a major incursion into Can Yunis,

00:34the city where they believe Hamas' newly named top leader could be.

00:38Much of the city has been reduced to ruins.

00:42An Israeli drone hit a car in southern Lebanon, killing a Hamas official, according to state media.

00:48Over the past few months, several Hamas officials have been killed in Lebanon in airstrikes blamed on Israel.

00:54Last week, Hezbollah said Israel killed its top commander in Beirut.
