A CrossFit athlete vanished in the water during a live-streaming of the CrossFit Games in Texas, with cops since recovering a body.
Lazar Đukić, 28, was last seen about 100 meters from the end of the 800-meter swimming segment in Fort Worth, Texas, according to Metro. His team told organizers that he didn't emerge from the water.
Videos posted to social media appear to show a man struggling to swim during the race and bobbing in the water until he he goes under.
A man does appear to jump in the water to save the person drowning, a video shows.
First responders pulled a body out of the Marine Creek Lake on Thursday and put it in a body bag around 10am, according to CBS News Texas. Officials have yet to confirm that the dead body is that of Đukić.
The CrossFit Games confirmed on X a competitor died at the event during the swimming portion, but did not name who the swimmer was.
'The remainder of today's events have been suspended. The well-being of competitors is our first priority and we are heartbroken by this tragic event,' organizers said.
