Step 1: Import Your Footage Open Adobe Premiere Pro and create a new project. Import the video footage that has a green or blue screen background, as well as the background image or video you want to replace it with. Step 2: Place Your Clips on the Timeline Drag your green screen footage to Video Track 2 in the timeline. Drag the background image or video to Video Track 1 below it. Step 3: Apply the Ultra Key Effect Go to the Effects Panel (Window > Effects). In the search bar, type "Ultra Key". Drag the Ultra Key effect onto your green screen footage on Video Track 2. Step 4: Remove the Green Screen Background With the green screen clip selected, go to the Effect Controls panel. Under Ultra Key, find the Key Color option. Click on the eyedropper tool next to Key Color. Click on the green or blue background in your video preview to select it. This should remove the green or blue screen, revealing the background on Video Track 1. Step 5: Fine-Tune the Key In the Ultra Key settings under Effect Controls, adjust the following parameters to refine the key: Matte Generation: Adjust Transparency, Highlight, Shadow, and Tolerance to improve the keying. Matte Cleanup: Use Choke and Soften to smooth out the edges. Spill Suppression: Adjust Desaturation, Range, and Spill to remove any unwanted green or blue spill around your subject. Color Correction: If needed, you can adjust the color balance to match the background better. Step 6: Preview and Make Final Adjustments Play back your footage to see how it looks with the new background. Make any necessary adjustments to the keying settings or position and scale of the background and foreground footage to achieve a natural look. Step 7: Export Your Final Video Once you’re satisfied with the result, go to File > Export > Media. Choose your desired export settings and click Export.
