00:00The warfare playing out on the streets is unacceptable.
00:05This morning, I received assurances from the top-level management of the TTPS
00:14that they are in fact pursuing meaningful intelligence
00:18and that we will be able to see some positive results soon.
00:23However, I want to warn them that Tobago is running out of patients.
00:29People are slowly starting to believe that the TTPS is incapable of the job at hand.
00:34Chief Secretary Fahli Agustin told TV6 News
00:37while the police are yet to get a handle on the crime situation in Tobago,
00:42criminals remain calculated and well organised.
00:46They are very well organised.
00:48They have a clear and structured hierarchy within their ranks.
00:53They are multilateral in nature,
00:55meaning they are operating across varying jurisdictions.
00:59They control significant portions of the Caribbean region's music and entertainment industry.
01:06They seem to be efficient in their planning
01:10and much more efficient in executing their work plans.
01:14And they make considerable profits from both their legal and illegal businesses.
01:21Mr Agustin also weighed in on the US $100,000 bounty placed on the head of Plumpy Boss,
01:28stating the Caribbean region is in trouble where crime is concerned.
01:34If what I'm reading in the Express today is true about the nature of that crime,
01:41then the Caribbean region is in trouble.
01:44But for us in Tobago, we have to find a way in leading a response against this kind of antisocial behaviour.
01:53Agustin said there must be a massive radical clean-up of blocks across Tobago
01:59as criminals must be made uncomfortable
02:02because low-abiding citizens cannot continue to live in fair.
02:06Agustin said he intends to speak to Tobegonians on the matter in the coming days.
