02:00Secretary Austin spoke with his
02:29Israeli Minister of Defense Galant this morning about the destabilizing threats posed by Iran,
02:34its partners and proxies.
02:36The Secretary reiterated ironclad support for Israel's security and informed the Minister
02:42of additional measures to include ongoing and future defensive force posture changes
02:47that the Department will take to support the defense of Israel.
02:52Secretary Austin highlighted that further escalation is not inevitable and that all
02:56countries in the region would benefit from a de-escalation in tensions, including through
03:01completing a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal.
03:05He also stressed that the unprecedented scale of U.S. support for Israel since Oct. 7 should
03:10leave Iran, Lebanese Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed terrorist groups with no doubt about U.S.
03:16resolve.
