00:21In a simple tumbling in a playground in Manila, Carlos Yulo started a long but successful gymnastics journey.

00:49Until he joined and won various local gymnastics competitions, especially the national games.
00:56At the age of 13, he was adopted by a Japanese coach, Munehiro Kugimiya, and flew to Japan for training.
01:05In 2019, he became the first Filipino gymnast to win the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Germany
01:15and won two medals in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
01:19That's just a few of the medals Carlos won from various international gymnastics competitions.
01:26Yulo said,
01:28I don't aim for medals in all competitions.
01:32What I aim for is to give my best performance.
01:36At the Tokyo Olympics, Yulo did not aim for a podium finish.
01:40But it was meant for him to win the Paralympics.
01:45Carlos' father was both nervous and happy when his son joined the men's floor exercise.
01:52I was happy and nervous.
