DBM presents detailed allocation of funds during Palace briefing on nat’l budget

00:00Like that red substance that helps sustain the human body,
00:03the national budget serves the same function in government,
00:06the so-called lifeblood of public service and good governance.
00:09Thus, it is imperative the president and his cabinet
00:12thoroughly go through the 2025 national budget
00:15to make sure every centavo is wisely and appropriately spent
00:18for the common good in the pursuit of economic prosperity.

00:27In a briefing in Malacanang,
00:28the Department of Budget and Management or DBM
00:31detailed the allocation of national funds for the upcoming year
00:35amounting to 6.3 trillion pesos.
00:37Firstly, the government's continuous support in response to inflation
00:41or the rising prices of goods was highlighted.
00:44In fact, more than 253 billion pesos has been allocated
00:48as cash assistance to those in need.
00:50This includes programs like the Pantawid Pamilang Pilipino Program,
00:54Social Pension, the Walang Gutom, Food Stamp Program, among others.
01:15There is also medical assistance from the Department of Health,
01:18the Tupad Program of Dole,
01:20fuel subsidy from the Department of Transportation,
01:23and fuel assistance from the Agriculture Department.
01:26Dole also received more than P980 million pesos
01:29for its Youth Employability Program.
01:50Flood control projects which help reduce flooding
01:53not only in Metro Manila but throughout the country
01:56will not be halted.
02:20The budget department also stated that the budget for the office of the vice president
02:38increased by 8% with the OVP receiving 2 billion pesos next year.
02:51Meanwhile, the government's budget for confidential and intelligence funds for 2025
03:16went down by 16% compared to last year, according to the DBM.
03:20Furthermore, Budget Secretary Pangandaman announced the implementation
03:24of the first tranche of salary increases for government employees this year.
03:28An executive order detailing the fourth tranche salary increase
03:32is expected to be released shortly.
03:34Included in the proposed 2025 national budget
03:37is the provision of medical benefits for government workers,
03:40amounting to P7,000 for each qualified employee, Alan Francisco.
