00:25Unfortunately, this project did not spice up our lives.
00:34While this excuse to showcase the Spice Girls' talents performed well at the box office,
00:38film aficionados and critics had to cringe.
00:41Among other things, Spice World follows a corrupt CEO trying to sabotage the Spice Girls,
00:45as well as the girls trying to make it to their Royal Albert Hall concert.
00:57You would think that a pop group would have an easier time acting as, well, themselves,
01:01but they visibly struggled to deliver their lines.
01:07Roger Ebert even noted sourly that they could barely lip-sync to their tunes.
01:11In other words, Spice World is strictly for the fans.

01:20Paris Hilton – The Hottie and the Naughty
01:30Vanity projects have rarely been so horrifying.
01:34Paris Hilton stars as Christabel Abbott, a beautiful woman friends with the ugly June

01:45When Nate, an old admirer, is interested in seeing her, Christabel insists on finding
01:50June a date too.
01:51The rest of the movie is a mindless and cliched jumble of mishandled rom-com tropes, including
01:56a predictable transformation.
02:00Hilton's performance is especially terrible, winning her a Razzie Award for Worst Actress.
02:16To be fair, the screenplay is far from the wittiest thing ever conceived, but she certainly
02:20doesn't help matters in the role.

02:27Basically, this Vanity Project is too vain to function.

02:41Rihanna – Battleship
02:49Movies based on video games almost never end up doing well.
02:52Just ask that 1990's Super Mario Bros. project.
02:58But an entire film based on a board game?
03:01Battleship no less?
03:02That's just asking for trouble.
03:03This one follows military ships that discover an extraterrestrial naval fleet.
03:07Rihanna's acting is indeed sub-par, and in different performance compared to her work
03:12in Ocean's 8.
03:13Of course, Battleship's over-earnestness to mix in with its absurd plot elements like
03:17humanoid aliens do not help.
03:23Not to mention its screenplay filled with groaner lines.
03:31In the end, Rihanna and the whole film sink like the titular ship, and it received mostly
03:36negative critical reviews.

03:49Jessica Simpson – Employee of the Month
03:54Directed by Greg Coolidge, Employee of the Month follows slacker Zack as he strives to
03:59get the titular honor in the hopes of winning the new hire's affections.
04:02He finds it difficult, however, especially as his rival attempts to sabotage him.
04:08Jessica Simpson is particularly one-node in her portrayal of Zack's love interest, Amy.
04:23Her role more of a prize to be won than anything resembling a character.
04:26There's no real depth or complexity given to the character, making her performance another
04:30element to criticize among many in a flick that's offensive and unfunny all around.

04:46Kelly Clarkson – From Justin to Kelly
04:54Considered one of the worst films of all time, From Justin to Kelly is… something.
05:04Led by Kelly Clarkson and her American Idol runner-up, it follows the romance between
05:08Kelly and Justin, whose initial meet-cute becomes complicated by expected misunderstandings.
05:23The result is unfunny, and not in the least bit swoon-worthy.
05:30Clarkson and Justin Guarini don't mesh well on screen, and do not make for plausible romantic
05:34leads in the slightest.
05:48Clarkson even admitted that she knew the film was going to be bad, but that she had no choice.
05:52Her contract demanded she star in it, and it was to her detriment.
05:55Not even the songs can save her.

06:06Michael Jordan – Space Jam
06:09It's Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny!
06:11What could go wrong?
06:20While Space Jam does interweave animation with live-action seamlessly, it's unfortunately
06:26no Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
06:28Jordan is arguably partly to blame.
06:30The story centers on the Looney Tunes, as they turn to the athlete to win them a consequential
06:34basketball game against the evil nerdlucks that mean them harm.
06:52Unfortunately, some feel Jordan's portrayal of his fictionalized self is a weak spot,
06:59though he did receive some praise for his work.
07:01As the straight man in the midst of endless zaniness, he's a little too chill, to the
07:05point of being almost wooden.
07:13This Space Jam performance might be more of a space turkey.

07:24The Weeknd – The Idol
07:25Able, The Weeknd Tesfaye stars in the short-lived drama series directed by Sam Levinson of Euphoria
07:33fame.
07:34Lily-Rose Depp is Jocelyn, a pop star that forms a relationship with cult leader Tedros.
07:44In his attempt to become Tedros, The Weeknd is dull and lacking in the charm required
07:49of his character, with plenty of overacting to boot.
07:57As for the show itself, Levinson is on record saying that it takes place in the same universe
08:01as Euphoria.
08:02It's far more problematic and less engaging, though.
08:05We don't know that The Weeknd doing a better job could have saved the disastrous angle
08:08The Idol takes on, but we know he certainly contributes to making it unwatchable.

08:23Jason Derulo and Taylor Swift – Cats
08:32This one is definitely not the cat's meow.
08:36A film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage musical of the same name, the overly
08:40literal interpretation of the balletic original was not helped by its casting.
08:45Among the worst offenders are Jason Derulo and Taylor Swift.
08:48Swift had already garnered criticism for 2010's Valentine's Day, but one would
09:08think her singing prowess would help in a musical.
09:10Alas, it's a mixed bag.
09:23She has an intermittent English accent, and a pop delivery some consider ill-suited for
09:27Macavity.
09:28Still, she's among the only cat stars who received positive reviews.
09:31Derulo's rum-tum-tugger, however?
09:33That's a nightmare nearly as horrific as the CGI.
09:36Let's not even go there.

09:43Shaquille O'Neal – Kazam
09:44There's very little magic to be found in Kazam, a vehicle for basketball legend Shaquille
09:50O'Neal.
09:51O'Neal plays the titular genie, emerging from a magical boombox.
09:55As you'd expect, he can grant Team Mac's three wishes.
09:58Kazam proves to be a good asset, helping Mac find his father and stand up to the jerks
10:02in his life.
10:03O'Neal is no Robin Williams though.
10:17The movie is a jumble of kid-flick platitudes, and O'Neal's poor acting cannot rescue
10:22it from its own mediocrity.
10:32He just doesn't give enough to emotionally invest us in the overall character arc, leading
10:36to a forgettable end result.

11:08Madonna – Body of Evidence
11:11At least with most pop stars and celebrities, film flops are typically a one-and-done deal.
11:15But Madonna's acting attempts have led to some truly terrible fruit.
11:28Body of Evidence is among the worst of her endeavors.
11:31It's an erotic thriller with risible dialogue, and Madonna's bad acting as a murder suspect
11:35who seduces her lawyer doesn't help matters.
11:49Such was its infamy that the singer won a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress.
11:55Her ill luck in movies didn't stop there, unfortunately.
11:58Even following her to 2002's Swept Away, a similar misfire.
12:04It turns out, even icons like Madonna can't do it all.
