00:00So we want to take you through this transition here along the east coast as we continue to track the threat for some of these downpours and some more trouble.
00:07And the downpours have been very frequent for some in the mid-Atlantic states and the areas to the south here.
00:13So major cities, as we mentioned, near the northeast seaboard are seeing drier weather build in.
00:19Philadelphia is done with it, New York, Boston, generally done with it.
00:23But dangerous and disruptive weather continues to move to the south here.
00:26So let's take a look farther south here as the tropical downpours are moving through the south and this will continue right through the weekend.
00:34We talked about this 1,000-mile swath here.
00:37So let's take you to D.C. right now for more on our top story.
00:40We have a mix of clouds and some sunshine here behind the storms and some sprinkles still on the map farther to the north of D.C.
00:47Overall, as we look at the regional view, there is some moisture around.
00:51You can see a little bit of isolated activity northwest of D.C., but most of us are done with the storms.
00:56If you're in the northeast, lingering thunderstorms south of Charlottesville.
01:00Heading farther north, Maine is where we still have some activity near Interstate 95 and up into areas not far from Bangor, Maine.
01:06Otherwise, though, as we take a look at the current temps, we're beginning to cool down and this is where it begins to get really nice.
01:11We're down to 73 in Buffalo and in Burlington.
01:15Still 86 in Charleston, West Virginia, but that lower humidity is going to be enjoyed by all.
01:20Overnight tonight, how are we doing compared to average?
01:22Average lows this time of the year in New York, 72.
01:25We're down to 66 tonight, so that's about six degrees below normal.
01:29That's nice sleeping weather.
01:30Boston, average low 67, 65 for us.
01:33Burlington, we're near normal.
01:34Detroit, five degrees below the average.
01:36Pittsburgh, five below.
01:37Charleston, near normal.
01:38D.C. still near normal and Richmond pinned in the upper 60s.
01:41But the chance for gusty storms, it's really becoming limited here east of Charlottesville.
01:47So we're all but done with this risk as limited as it was today into Virginia.
01:52Bigger problems farther south as the high-pressure system is going to scour away any of these worries or issues for us.
01:58And we have a five-star beach weekend.
02:00Whether you're heading to the Great Lakes or to the northeast coast, we have really, really nice weather.
02:05This is good for business for the crowd up there near Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan or into the Jersey Shore.
02:12The boardwalks will be busy.
02:13Great, comfortably warm weather.
02:15And Saturday, how are we doing Saturday compared to average?
02:18You can see we're pinned right around normal.
02:20Boston, New York, precisely at the norm, a degree above in D.C., back up to 91 here.
02:25Pittsburgh, turned a little warm, 87.
02:28Charleston, 89, three degrees above average.
02:30But it's not going to be that humid, and that takes the edge off of the heat.
02:34So a nice dry spell coming up through the next three and a half days in the northeast.
