00:00All of the barge passengers who were seen and bumped into a bridge in Pasig are now safe.
00:06In Marikina, the life of the rescuers is in danger after their rescue boat capsized.
00:13Witnesses are Marie Zumali and Mackie Pulido.
00:23Rescue!
00:26Rescue!
00:28In the aftermath of the typhoon last night, the rescue mission in Marikina was about to return to the tragedy.
00:34Due to the strong flow of water on the roadside at the boundary of Barangay Santunino and Malanday,
00:39the rescue boat capsized on 8 rescuers and 6 rescuers who were rescued.
00:44When we were about to get out of Esquinita, we had a hard time because the current of the water suddenly increased.
00:51We jumped off the bridge and eventually, the water came in and we fell.
00:57That's why the rescuers had to be rescued again even though it was already dangerous.
01:02We were immediately chased when we were rescued.
01:05We were the first to be rescued.
01:07We were the first to be rescued.
01:10They were recognized and thanked by City Hall earlier.
01:14We have been googling for several months for training so that they can do this.
01:21The interoperability of each group is very important.
01:25Many of the residents started to clean their houses.
01:29It's very difficult. We have to wash our stuff, food, and laundry.
01:37We don't have anything to do. We don't have anything to do.
01:40In Barangay Tumanad, Omar's store was shut down because 50% of the washed grocery items were already being sold.
01:47I'm still a low-key person, ma'am. At least I have something.
01:50Even if it's just a small amount, I will return it. I need it.
01:53The City Hall has been cleaning the garbage for the whole day to avoid diseases.
01:57Many people are still visiting the evacuation centers that were started by the DSWD.
02:03The help from the national government and private individuals is very important,
02:07especially the funds from the local government.
02:11A lot of people are worried about the vehicles, the barges of a DPWH contractor
02:18that were one by one crashing into the F. Manalo Bridge in Pasig yesterday.
02:26But the last and the 20th of these vehicles were already in the middle of the night.
02:33The Bureau of Fire Special Rescue Force of Pasig and Quezon City rescued them before dawn.
02:39The man is still in pain. He was stranded in the barge for more than 8 hours.
02:45He was brought to Mission Hospital in Pasig.
02:48I'm nervous because the impact of the earthquake is very strong.
02:52The barges at the back are crashing into the bridge.
02:58As far as we know, everything is safe.
03:01But unfortunately, one of the barges was left behind.
03:05But there are still a lot of problems.
03:07I went back to the place where the barges crashed.
03:09According to the DPWH, it was tied up.
03:12According to the standard operating procedure.
03:15Nothing bad happened.
03:17This is a purely accident.
03:19Although it's still under investigation.
03:21What happened is that the current is too strong.
03:24I'm here now at the bottom of the F. Manalo Bridge
03:27where the barges that crashed into the bridge are more visible.
03:31One of them is already broken.
03:34From this, we will have an idea
03:37how strong is the impact of the impact of the barges
03:41that hit the F. Manalo Bridge.
03:45The girder of the bridge is broken.
03:47It's the one that holds the weight of the vehicles that pass through the bridge.
03:50There are also a lot of critical cracks.
03:52That's why the bridge is closed to motorists.
03:54It's not clear until when.
03:56Above, there are also cracks in the road and the posts that fell.
04:00We requested also to give us ample time to investigate
04:04the integrity of the structure.
04:07Whether we can still retrofit or totally condemn.
04:11There are alternate routes there.
04:13So right now, the Manalo Bridge is totally closed.
04:17The collision of the barges was left to the President.
04:20What we need to do there is to get an assessment
04:23as to whether or not we can reach the bridge.
04:25Aside from the bridge, other barges were also hit.
04:28One of our pumping stations was also hit.
04:31It was a floodgate that had fruits.
04:34But it was not damaged.
04:36The operation was not affected.
