It was the former US president's first public rally since an assassination attempt against him in Pennsylvania on July 13. 00:00Let me begin this evening with a very special thanks to Americans nationwide, including

00:24all of you here today for your extraordinary outpouring of love and support in the wake

00:30of the horrific last Saturday event.

00:38What a day it was.

00:39As I said earlier this week, I stand before you only by the grace of almighty God.

00:45That's true.

00:46You shouldn't be here.

00:47I shouldn't be here.

00:54Then I looked and I said, that's not good.

00:59So it's immigration, if you think about it, right.

01:02Immigration.

01:03I would have never been looking to the right.

01:04And I had to be.

01:05It was the only place that would have saved us.

01:10They do these reports in the New York Times and all over the place where they had, you

01:14You know, the shape, you know, if he turns this way, this way, this way.

01:18Every shot was no good for me except for the one direct, direct.

01:23It came whizzing by, and I hope we have to never go through that again, everybody.

01:30It's just so horrible, horrible.

01:35Like some on the right, severe right, came up with this Project 25,

01:41and I don't even know.

01:43I mean, some of them, I know who they are, but they're very, very conservative.

01:47Just like you have, they're sort of the opposite of the radical left, okay?

01:51You have the radical left, and you have the radical right.

01:53And they come up with this, I don't know what the hell it is, it's Project 25.

01:58He's involved in Project, and then they read some of the things, and

02:02they are extreme, I mean, they're seriously extreme.

02:05But I don't know anything about it, I don't want to know anything about it.

02:08But what they do is misinformation and disinformation, and

02:12they keep saying, he's a threat to democracy.

02:15I'm saying, what the hell did I do for democracy?

02:18Last week, I took a bullet for democracy.

02:20What did I do against democracy?

02:26And now we have something coming up where they're going to go,

02:30with a convention, and they have a couple of problems.

02:32Number one, they have no idea who the candidate is, and neither do we.

02:37That's a problem, but we'll see.

02:41Hopefully, they get it worked out.

02:44Sort of interesting, this guy goes and he gets the votes, and

02:46now they want to take it away.

02:47That's democracy, they talk about democracy.

02:50Let's take it away from them.
