00:05Who's ready to bowl?

00:06Move over, pickleball.

00:07There's another sport that's quickly gaining popularity.

00:10And the good news is there's a club already in your own backyard.

00:14Okay, gotta figure out how to sign up.

00:16This feels like this could be a place for me.

00:18Lawn bowling is a leisurely game suitable for almost any age

00:21and can be played socially or competitively with minimal equipment.

00:25This is definitely more challenging than I thought.

00:27My competitive side is starting to show.

00:30Oh, so close.

00:32The object of the game, to get your bowls closer to the jack than your opponent.

00:36Did I hit the jack?

00:37But there's a catch.

00:38The bowls are not round, so they roll in a curving path.

00:41And while the sport is seeing a rise in people playing, it's not a new game.

00:45In fact, this club has been around for 110 years.

00:49Run completely by volunteers, it was moved to this location almost 30 years ago.

00:54While playtime's available both during the day and the evening,

00:57there are lots of opportunities to play,

00:59which is great because I'll definitely be coming back.
