00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the creation of the Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation in Compostela, Cebu.

00:07This is their sixth steel plant in the Philippines, which is almost 60 years old.

00:13Steel Asia started operations in 1965.

00:17It is considered the largest producer of rebars in Southeast Asia and the main steel exporter from the Philippines.

00:25The government hopes that the steel industry will revive in the country.

00:29That is why the President called on government agencies to assist in the production of basic steel products.

00:36This is to reduce costs and maintain demand.

00:40President Marcos encouraged the Department of Trade and Industry to update the Iron and Steel Roadmap.
