00:46In the first round last weekend, it secured only 32 mandates compared to RN's 37, but
00:53boosted results dramatically following tactical withdrawals by hundreds of candidates.
00:59President Emmanuel Macron's Liberal Ensemble coalition trailed the left with 168 seats,

01:07Turnout this weekend is estimated to have been 67.1 per cent, according to Ipsos Talent,

01:43Prime Minister Gabriel Atal announced in the wake of the exit poll results that he would
01:49submit his resignation on Tuesday.
01:52Atal also stated he would never accept the fact that millions of people in France voted
01:58for those he called radicals.
