The design of the Audi RS e-tron GT family

Designers Christopher Kröner and Juan Carlos Huerta Martinez present the design highlights of the Audi S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT und RS e-tron GT performance.

00:00It's really difficult to polish already something that is so perfect like the

00:08E-Tron GT. You feel already so amazed by it, you just want to drive, you want to

00:13touch the materials. You already have a diamond, how do you make this diamond

00:17even better? We work really together with other colleagues from other departments

00:21like interior and color and trim. My name is Christopher, I am color and trim

00:26designer at Audi. My name is Juan Carlos Huerta, I'm exterior designer in Audi

00:30Design. Actually create bigger differentiation between the lines, this

00:34was our goal and also to bring the design language to the direction that

00:39Audi Design is moving in the future. If we start for example talking about the

00:44S model, we see that we have a completely different treatment in the

00:48air intake area. We are having these two boxes that it really highlights this air

00:52curtain area. In the rear end of course we see the difference between both

00:57models. We have a clear and a little bit calmer design in the S model. It's still

01:03really sporty of course but being more elegant than the RS model which lives

01:08from this brutality of the motorsport. We have those two bridges in the very side

01:13of the diffuser. We have also a honeycomb integrated in the main surface of the

01:18diffuser and of course something really important for our RS model is the

01:22vertical reflector that it belongs also to our upcoming strategy. The

01:27camouflage carbon is something completely new for Audi and this is

01:31basically leading the way for the performance model and we're very happy

01:36about it because it's very progressive. It's something unique that you can only

01:41find in the e-tron GT for now. You open the car and you get inside you have this

01:47super sporty steering wheel that you just have to press a button and then you

01:51go RS and on top of that you have all the materials matching perfectly also to

01:56the exterior. You have this perfect Gran Turismo sports car feeling. We see how

02:04the face actually moved a little bit lower. We have this lug band in between

02:10the lights and the rest of the bumper. The clear direction for the RS model is

02:14more or motorsport heritage.

02:21Wheels are indeed extremely important for cars. They are like the perfect

02:26complement, like the perfect shoes. When we have an RS model we're already at a

02:32very high level of performance but if we have an RS performance it's even more

02:38challenging to make a difference and we like to compare this to an athlete so we

02:44have a an athlete and then we have a high-performance athlete.

02:51I think it's a dream car.
