These two athletes were given the honour to be on the front line

of the country's contingent flag bearer at the opening ceremony on 26 July.

According to Tan Sri Nurzah Zakaria, these two athletes represent the country's contingent

consisting of experienced athletes and also the first time they will compete in the Olympic Games.

The M.O.M. said after examining the shortlist of athletes and other factors,

including the competition schedule, the executive board chose veteran and Nurshazrin

to lead the contingent flag bearer when selecting the athletes.

The veteran flag bearer was chosen because it is the first time he will compete in the Olympic Games.

Nurshazrin is an experienced athlete who will be the third runner-up.

The 19-year-old veteran will be the first runner-up after becoming the first Malaysian athlete
