00:00Hi, I'm Sophie from NME and I'm here with New Dad at Glastonbury Festival. Hey guys,
00:10how we doing? Good. Yeah, yeah, really good. Just got off stage from Woodsy's. How was
00:15the show for you? Really fun. Yeah, like really surreal. So it's been a really big year for
00:21you guys so far, obviously releasing debut album, playing big shows with Johnny Marr,
00:25but maybe the most unexpected thing came from your debut album artwork going viral across
00:29Asia, right, and in China. How did you react when you first found out about that? We just
00:34got a DM one day from the photographer of the artwork, who had not really actually personally
00:39interacted with before, and he was like, check this out. And we were like, what? But we also
00:45didn't really have any information about what was happening because in China there's totally
00:50different social media apps. So we were trying to Google and we just could find nothing.
00:53It was really hard. It was so quick to figure it out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were just hearing
00:58this stuff and we were like, we don't know what's happening, but it's cool. It was cool.
01:02Have you found fans in any other unexpected places or countries this year? I think Japan.
01:08Yeah, Japan's been a big one. We're doing a tour there in October, which is unreal.
01:16I guess speaking of social media, you also had another viral moment recently with your
01:20Just Like Heaven cover. Yeah, I suppose. I feel like I was kind of surprised. It was
01:26the first one of our videos that got a lot of views. It's so nice that people enjoyed
01:33it. It's a great song, you want to do it justice. I guess we can hope it's one step closer to
01:40meeting Robert Smith, right? Got a follow on Twitter, so that was big. It was a big
01:46start. That's end goal. Once that happens, I'm, bye bye. I give up music. There you go.
