00:35There's the chance to see renowned Renaissance masterpieces and shop for high-end fashion

00:41Italy offers a magnificently rich array of sumptuous natural scenery and numerous opportunities

00:58Sicily.
00:59Italy's largest island, Sicily offers exceptional beaches, charming villages and towns, as well
01:05as an abundance of ancient ruins and archaeological sites.
01:10Throughout history, Sicily has been at the crossroad of cultures, landscapes and cuisine.
01:16Taking influence from its North African and Arab neighbors, the island has enjoyed a prosperous

01:23The island is famous for its cathedrals, vineyards, island beaches, and amazing architecture.

01:35like Catania and Palermo are among Italy's best food cities.
01:40Sicilian food is unique in the world, even within the definition of typical Italian food.
01:46You just can't travel to Sicily without meandering into the galaterias, restaurants, markets
01:51and cafes that serve the typical Sicilian food and regional wine that the island is

01:59Amalfi Coast.
02:01The Amalfi Coast is one of the most renowned tourist destinations in the whole of Italy
02:06and draws thousands of tourists annually.
02:09This stretch of mountainous coast sits in between Naples and Salerno and encompasses
02:14the arm of the Sorrento Peninsula.
02:17The coastline includes some absolutely gorgeous towns that hug the mountains, some sublime
02:22beaches, and jaw-dropping scenery.
02:25Transport to the Amalfi Coast is well-developed and there is a regular bus and train service
02:31that travels to most of the popular destinations.

02:37Siena.
02:38Established upon three hills in the heart of Tuscany, Siena offers tourists a step back
02:44into the Middle Ages with its well-preserved historic center and medieval horse-racing
02:49tradition, famously known as Il Palio.
02:53Hosted twice every summer in the Piazza del Campo, the Palio horse race draws huge annual
02:59crowds.
03:01This 700-year-old tradition involves representatives from 17 different districts, racing bareback
03:07on the cobblestone plaza.
03:13The historic center of Siena is one of the most popular places to go in Italy as it still
03:18retains many of its stunning works of art and architecture from that time period.
03:25Siena's Piazza del Campo is regarded as one of the finest medieval squares in Europe.

03:39Venice.
03:41Located in northeastern Italy, Venice is an archipelago of 118 islands all connected by
03:46hundreds of beautiful bridges and scenic canals.
03:50Of the canals, the Grand Canal is most famous and divides the city into two sections.
03:56Venice is often crowded and expensive but well worth visiting to see its magnificent
04:00landmarks like St. Mark's Square and Basilica, Doge's Palace and Rialto Bridge.
04:07One of the most popular things to do in Venice is to take a gondola ride along the Grand
04:11Canal.
04:13Every year, Venice hosts one of Italy's liveliest carnival festivals where the streets are filled
04:18with people dressed in colorful costumes and masks, and the Grand Canal is packed with
04:23fleets of decorated boats and gondolas.
04:26A popular souvenir to purchase in Venice is one of the beautifully crafted carnival masks.

04:37Rome.
04:38Formerly the capital of the Roman Empire, Rome today is the government seat and capital
04:43city of Italy.
04:45Located in the country's central region of Lazio, Rome is a vast and complex city that
04:50is both historic and modern at the same time.
04:54Rome is divided into several districts with its center, the Colosseo District, containing
04:59the most ancient attractions like the Colosseum, the Forum of Augustus, Capitoline Hill and
05:04the Roman Forum.

05:11Cinque Terre.
05:13From five sleepy Italian fishing villages to one of the most famous coastal landscapes
05:18in the world, the Cinque Terre has been through a few changes over the years, but it still
05:22looks every bit as gorgeous as you'd imagine.
05:26It's now a national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with up to 2.4 million people
05:31a year visiting the Cinque Terre to walk, boat and train their way through its dramatic
05:35cliffs and pretty coastal villages.
05:39The Cinque Terre National Park is the smallest and oldest national park in Italy and was
05:44designated back in 1999.
05:47It covers an area of only 15 square miles but packs plenty of gorgeous scenery into
05:52a small space, with a mix of rocky cliffs, scenic coves, clear blue waters, terraced
05:57vineyards and olive groves linked by a network of footpaths.
06:02People often talk about the Cinque Terre like it's one place, but it's actually a stretch
06:06of Italian Rivera coastline made up of five separate villages, known as the Five Lands
06:11or Cinque Terre in Italian.
06:14Running from north to south the villages are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola
06:23and Riomaggiore.
06:25Each one of the five is a beauty, with pastel buildings tumbling down the hillsides and
06:29sparkling sea views, but each has its own different character.

06:39Visited by millions of tourists every year, Tuscany is one of the most popular regions
06:44in Italy.
06:46Located in the center of the country, Tuscany boasts scenic and serene landscapes with pretty
06:50villages and towns dotted about its rolling hills, low-lying mountains, and fertile farmland.
06:57Tuscany is also famed for its romantic cities and towns.
07:02Its tourist attractions include age-old churches, elegant piazzas, and impressive palaces.
07:09These are lovely to wander around, with the historic centers of Siena, Pisa, and Lucca
07:14particularly delightful places to visit in Tuscany.
07:18On top of all this, Tuscany's capital Florence is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities
07:23in the world and is almost unrivaled when it comes to its countless artistic and architectural
07:28treasures.

07:36The Italian Lake District stretches across northern Italy.
07:40Popular with tourists for over 100 years, the Italian lakes combine good weather with
07:45attractive scenery.
07:47Starting in the west is Lake Maggiore, a narrow lake known for its lush vegetation and picturesque
07:52islands.
07:54The 40-mile-long lake sits on the southern side of the Alps and extends into the canton
07:58of Ticino in southern Switzerland.
08:03Catering to celebrities, royals, and affluent visitors, Lake Como is famous for its lavish,
08:09dramatic setting and extravagant Renaissance villas.
08:13At the heart of the lake is Bellagio, a romantic town with cobbled streets and brightly colored
08:18mansions.
08:23Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake, offers the perfect mix of history, culture, and outdoor

08:30Stroll through lemon groves in Limone, windsurf in Riva del Garda, or explore ancient castles
08:35in Malcesine.
