00:00After 14 days of delay NASA announced a further postponement in the Boeing
00:04Starliners return to earth from the International Space Station. Two NASA
00:08astronauts the Indian origin Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore were supposed
00:13to spend nine days on Boeing's first manned space launch with their return
00:18date with their return due on the 14th of June and now it is unclear when will
00:23the two leave the space station. The two astronauts have been
00:31reported to be in high spirits. NASA's commercial crew program manager Steve
00:36Stitch and as he said and I want to quote here they've been very positive
00:41about the whole thing. They love Starliner, they love being in the
00:46vehicle, they love being on the ISS. Now the return for the spacecraft which was
00:52launched on the 5th of June has been stalled multiple times over snags
00:56including hardware malfunctions. The date of return was first shifted to the 26th
01:01of June over technical issues in the spacecraft. The announcement followed two
01:06days of intense meetings to review the readiness of the Boeing spacecraft. Now
01:11it has been pushed again to an unspecified time in July. This comes
01:17after the space station's two planned spacewalks on 24th of June and the
01:232nd of July. NASA has said they will re-evaluate the situation once the space
01:28talks are completed. The Starliner has the capacity to stay locked to stay
01:34docked at the International Space Station for up to 45 days. This is also
01:37the only window for engineers to run intense checks on spacecraft
01:41manufacturing thrusters on its service module. The module is responsible for
01:46providing most of the spacecraft's fuel and power. The cylindrical detachment
01:50will burn up while re-entering the Earth's atmosphere. As per NASA, five of
01:55the Starliner's 28 control thrusters failed as the spacecraft approached the
02:02ISS. Engineers managed to revive four of the failed thrusters leading to an
02:07eventual docking of the spacecraft. It added that the failure could be linked
02:13to overheating. While multiple checks, NASA has approved the four resurrected
02:20thrusters while one remains out of operation. The spacecraft has also
02:23reported helium leaks in its propulsion system. A CBS report revealed that NASA
02:29and Boeing had prior knowledge of a small prelaunch leak, which was
02:34reportedly deemed non threatening.
02:37Now back on the space station.
02:43Yeah.
02:51Mhm.
02:53Mhm.
