00:00Pwede ba bang may-in-love ang isang pause?
00:03One of the biggest challenges that persons living with HIV face
00:07ay yung stigma and misconceptions around the virus.
00:13yung kanyang relationship with family, friends, and lover.
00:17For today's video, pag-uusapan natin ng
00:19U equals U of Cerebriscordant Relationships.
00:22I'm Joseph Morong, and here's what you need to know.
00:31Having HIV is not a death sentence anymore.
00:34Pwede nang i-manage yung HIV and its symptoms
00:37through treatment hubs available nationwide.
00:46ang undetectable viral load.
00:49Ano ba ibig sabihin ng undetectable?
00:51One of the parameters on how we check ang isang pale HIV
00:55kung ano ang status nila is to check their viral load.
01:03A person who is on ARVs or ARTs
01:07will inevitably reach an undetectable status
01:10in about average six months.
01:26hindi ka na mag-progress into advanced HIV or AIDS
01:35It's simple. You really just need to drink your ARV medications every day.
01:40So, while you're drinking them, pinapatulog lang namin yung virus.
01:44Tulog siya, it's not gonna harm you.
01:46However, in times when you stop drinking your medications,
01:50magigising ulit sila.
01:52So, magre-replicate ulit sila and they will start causing problems again.
01:56That's why drink your medications.
02:06Just remember, you equals you.
02:15Ibig sabihin, they can live happily, normally.
02:18They can have families, they can have relationships
02:21without the fear of getting their loved ones na magkaroon ng transmission.
02:25Kasi yun yung pinakamalaking barrier sa pag-create ng mga people living with HIV
02:29ng romantic or intimate relationship with other people.
02:32Napakaraming mga taong living with HIV,
02:35felt inspired and aspirational siya.
02:39Kasi pag na-reach mo yung undetectable level,
02:41it's as if parang graduate ka eh.
02:43Parang graduate ka from the disease.
02:46You can live a healthy life with healthy relationships
02:51kapag ikaw ay merong HIV and you're taking medications.
02:55And you can be very successful.
02:57See? So, can post people fall in love?
03:00Of course. Just like everybody else,
03:02deserve ng mga people with HIV ang unconditional love.
03:07Having HIV does not make you unlovable.
03:11Many people with HIV have fulfilling relationships and families.
03:20But from my experience,
03:21madami na akong pasyente who have long, fulfilling, and happy relationships.
03:25At kapag nagkaroon ng partner ang isang PLHIV,
03:28ang tawag sa kanyang relasyon ay zero discordant.
03:32So when you say zero discordant,
03:34kapal, ibig sabihin nun,
03:36one partner is a zero negative,
03:39one partner is zero positive.
03:41Ibig sabihin nun,
03:42S-E-R-O, ibig sabihin nung nugo,
03:44isa negative for HIV,
03:45isa positive for HIV.
03:47Yun yung general term natin.
03:49Sa isang person na binod ng HIV,
03:50na isang person walang HIV at mayroon silang relationship.
03:54Wait.
03:55Di ba risky yung pakikipag-jowa sa isang PLHIV?
03:58What if mahawa si partner?
04:00Hindi naman.
04:01Be open-minded.
04:08There are ways to navigate a zero discordant relationship.
04:11So, it's very important that both partners educate themselves about HIV,
04:16treatment options and preventive measures.
04:19Most importantly, prep.
04:22Kasi ang International AIDS Society natin,
04:25we encourage that clients who have zero discordant relationships,
04:30while hindi pa si client undetectable,
04:33dapat nagpe-prep si partner who is negative.
04:37So, sila yung talaga yung number one clientele natin
04:40sa mga pagpe-prep or pre-exposure prophylaxis.
04:44It's very important as well that we need to support
04:47the person living with HIV partner
04:49in adhering to their treatment plan.
04:51Kasi magkapartner kayo, it needs to be a teamwork.
04:54Next is regular consultation.
04:56Both needs to have regular health check
04:58when it comes to sexual health.
05:00And of course, maintaining a healthy lifestyle
05:03and prioritizing mutual care and respect is very important.
05:07For everybody there living with partners who are HIV reactive,
05:12I know it's scary, but there are ways that we can protect you.
05:15You can take your prep up until your partner is undetectable already.
05:20Aside from romantic relationships,
05:22nahihirapan din yung mga boss sa mga relationship nila
05:25with family and friends.
05:27Patalas, sila pa yung unang dumalayo
05:29kapag nalaman na yung status ng isang boss.
05:33So when that happens, what do you do?
05:36It's a fact na sometimes the initial reaction
05:39based on the misinformation comes from fear.
05:43But with time and education,
05:51Pero at the end of the day,
05:52pinaka-importante is the readiness of the client.
05:56Kasi baka mag-out siya ng out of tune
05:59or hindi pa siya ready.
06:00Kapag ready ka na,
06:01doon ka na lang mag-disclose sa mga tao.
06:03If you know that you have accepted yourself,
06:06that you are empowered,
06:07then that's the time that you can, I think,
06:09share na your status to other people.
06:12Pero kailangan i-empower mo muna yung self mo.
06:15And of course, we have the law,
06:17RA11166, that protects naman a person living with HIV
06:22from risk na ma-dispel yung confidentiality niya,
06:26o kaya naman ma-out siya,
06:27o kaya naman ma-bash siya,
06:29o kaya naman ma-discriminate siya from workplace or whatnot.
06:34HIV support groups and communities
06:36are very important to PLHIV.
06:38Mukot sa emotional support,
06:39they also provide counseling
06:41at patutulungan kanila na maka-access sa mga gamot.
06:45So for those clients who have serodiscordant relationship,
06:49who wants to navigate relationship and looking for support,
06:52of course, we have Love Yourself Flourish by Love Yourself,
06:55who assists clients.
06:57It's a group counseling
06:58and discussing about relationship issues, concerns, and whatnot
07:02para ma-assist yung clients natin.
07:04Mukot sa Love Yourself,
07:05ilan sa mga HIV support groups sa bansa
07:08ay ang Red Whistle, Positive Action Foundation,
07:11at Free2BeYou.
07:12Hindi na nakakahawa ang isang PLHIV
07:15kapag undetectable na yung kanyang status.
07:18Pwede rin siyang makahanap
07:20kung gusto niya ng kanyang forever
07:23o yung kanyang dawat.
07:25Isa lang ang ibig sabihin niya,
07:27people living with HIV can still have
07:30successful, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.
07:34There is life beyond HIV.
