00:00Hi, I'm a Volkswagen enthusiast and this is something my passion, Volkswagen.

00:20So every year I try to do a small gathering on June 22nd and we invite cars from around

00:27KL and PJ.

00:29Because my event is always on June 22nd.

00:32June 22nd actually is the birthday of the Beetle.

00:35It is the day Ferdinand Pochet, he signed a contract to make the Beetle.

00:42This was June 22nd, 1938, so it's before the war.

00:47So Hitler had a dream, he wanted everybody in Germany to have a car.

00:51So Volkswagen, the name Volkswagen means people's car.

00:55So everybody had to buy a coupon, so they buy stamp, they got money they buy the stamp

01:03and once you finish the booklet, you go and change for a Beetle.

01:07So that was the idea behind it.

01:10But after that war happened, 1941, we have World War II.

01:16So after the war, a British commander, he came and he revived back the factory.

01:23So that is how Volkswagen started again.

01:26This day is very special for us.

01:29Without June 22nd, there's no Volkswagen.

01:32Since this year is having it on a weekend, so we are expecting quite a lot of cars to

01:38come.

01:39We have people from Ipoh coming, there are some people from Kuantan, but we probably

01:44expect about 150 above and maybe more, we don't know.

01:50I do this, it's free, nobody has to pay anything, it's a social gathering.

01:55So you come and we are actually jumpa kawan lah.

01:58So bila orang mari, eh lama dah jumpa lah, it's a gathering of friends lah.

02:03Because our Volkswagen community is very close.

02:06We tak kira bangsa, tak kira agama, everything, we just, for the love of the Volkswagen, we

02:11just unite.

02:12June 22nd is, well, in theory, we are all supposed to celebrate it worldwide.

02:23So one of the countries that should be celebrating and would be celebrating in a grand scale

02:28would be Mexico.

02:29Mexico, Brazil.

02:30But we are not going live with them, because of the time difference.

02:36Why Volkswagen?

02:38Volkswagen is supposed to be, like as they say, when they build the car, anyone should

02:44be able to fix the car.

02:46Anyone.

02:47Alright?

02:48So with some basic knowledge, you can fix the car.

02:51But same thing like when we were travelling, we actually took out one of the vehicle's

02:57engine, three times, by the roadside.

03:00Did it ourselves, and then it went back on the road.

03:04So that's how easy, because there's no water, it's air-cooled, so you don't have to worry

03:09about all modern technologies and so on.

03:35I also have a Kombi.

03:38And I also have a convertible.

03:44I have six.
