00:46saying that the EU's punitive tariffs

00:48are likely to hit German car companies.

00:51Because China is an important market for many German car manufacturers,

01:38into the battery electric vehicles value chain in China.

01:43In particular, this value chain benefits from unfair subsidiarization,

01:50which is causing a threat of economic injury

01:54to EU battery electric vehicles producers.

01:57Margulies also revealed that

01:59the European Commission has contacted the Chinese authorities

02:01to discuss solutions to the problem.

02:03If the discussions with the Chinese authorities

02:05do not come up with an effective solution,

02:07the new tariffs are expected to be in effect from July 4.
