00:00Now, the tension in the region is rising, said President Bongbong Marcos,

00:04that the country should prepare for a more severe external threat.

00:09That statement was followed by the first military exercises of China

00:13inside our Exclusive Economic Zone,

00:16which was led by Dano Tingcunco.

00:23On the eve of Independence Day,

00:25and the banks were dressed in paper,

00:27various groups protested in front of the Chinese Embassy

00:30against China's harassment in the West Philippine Sea.

00:48In his visit yesterday to the 5th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army in Isabela,

00:52President Marcos said,

00:54the situation is getting worse and the external threat is getting worse.

00:57The President also mentioned that because the Philippines is near Taiwan,

01:01China's interest in our country is also evident,

01:04so it is important to be prepared for whatever happens,

01:07especially in the northern part of the Philippines.

01:09Isabela is located in the north, and only two provinces are far from Taiwan.

01:14The President also reiterated that the Philippines is not occupying the territory,

01:18but he also did not allow anyone to take it.

01:20The President's statements were followed by the military exercises of China

01:25in Escoda Shoal, which is inside the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines.

01:29The AFP said that this is the first military exercise of China inside our EEZ.

01:35Aside from this, the AFP also said that China's warships have increased in the West Philippine Sea.
