00:34 Comalec Chairman George Garcia discussed the overview of the election,

00:38 voters' education, and there was also a demonstration of the new automated counting machines.

00:44 Comalec also tested the voting using the touchscreen that will be used in the voting of Filipinos abroad.

01:41 So that social media cannot be abused, Comalec submitted a draft of a revised Omnibus Election Code

01:48 that can regulate the use of social media by candidates in the campaign period.

01:53 They are also considering if they can ban the use of deep fakes.

01:58 For example, if they submitted to us two social media accounts,

02:02 any other account outside of the social media accounts either promoting or not promoting the candidates,

02:08 they will be removed by these platforms because technically that's campaigning.

02:12 This is certainly not our first election coverage, but to a degree we are marching into unfamiliar grounds
